Sauzé and Mélusine, who were part of our first rescue after we came down here.  The services vétérinéaires called us about five dogs left by someone who disappeared from his house in Sauzé Vaussais.  We rehomed three of them and these two stayed with us.

Hi This is a pic of our pet dog "Stinky" We are not sure what breed it is, but the man that sold him to us assured us he is a pedigree dog.

Dogwood I like your pet! I also like your little signature square but is there a way for you to slow it down just a tad... Sorry being a little visually impaired (especially first thing on a Sunday morning!) it goes a little too fast to read properly....

This is a picture of my OH's faithful companion. His name is Ianto

Last night the both of them went to the pub as they do most Saturday evenings. After a while Ianto decides that his master's drinking lark isn't his cuppa and goes off. Usually 1/2 an hour later he comes back and wanders off again later. Everyone in the village knows him, he is very good with children and much too friendly for his own good. Well ... last night Ianto didn't come back and this morning it's all hell break lose : Phone all the neighbours ... then all the vets in the area in case someone has reported a rogue dog, phone the police in case someone has brought in a stray dog.

Phoning the police is real fun [:@] in this area! Our local police station in this little town is virtually shutdown, only a copper or two at the weekend, sent from the next nearest police station 20 miles away,  to deal with drunken lager louts after closing time. We are on the border to 2 counties and to 2 police authorities and the nearest 24/7 maned police station is certainly a good 50 to 70 miles away in another police authority... Anyway OH has now taken his scrambler and gone accross the fields on the farm and is going to have a look on the neighbouring farms and up and down all the little lanes... just in case...

I hope Ianto comes back before the end of the day or this household will be subject to a month long of mourning!...[:'(]

This is our latest addition.  He, Blanco, was rescued last Tuesday seconds before being crushed by the wheels of a car.  He's 6-7 weeks old according to the vet.  I've waited about 35 years to get a cat of my own having been denied one by both my father and husband and now fate/destiny has bought me one [:D]

Nothing like yours photowise, just daisywise, here's one I took last weekend of Tito while he was having a run at the boarding kennels after we got him out of Niort just before he was put down.  He's up for adoption, a very nice and gentle Beauceron cross.  I'll have to do a post for him.

I saw the red bit and my heart stopped for a moment and then I saw the rest.  Yes, you will have to do a post for him,  he's lovely.

I had put Utopie in a 'stay' for the first pic and a 'come and get a bit of dried liver for being a good girl' for the second.  It just seemed to be appropriate to post both although the second was seriously spontaneous.[:D][:D]

Getting a little repetitive !   [:D]  The forum's not working very well at the moment.  Yes, sorry, I see what you mean about the way I put that.  I should have said "just before he was to be...".  Sorry.

There is something mauve about your first photo, must be the light and the colour of the grasses, the second is not the same colour.  It's really lovely.

Now let's see if I can post this in one go.  [geek]

Well done, that seemed to work,  only one copy[:P].  On a different tack,  does anyone know if Missy's OH's Ianto was found?

Bandit under the Chrissy tree (years ago, in Wales)

sal9.jpg

Wales c.1985, "Paddy" was a 'desert dog' who, as a little pup was dumped in our garden in Dubai. Obviously we had to bring him to UK when we returned. That was in the days of 6 mths quarantine and it was very traumatic for poor Pads. Desert dogs dont generally live very long but Paddy managed about 9 yrs before falling over with a heart attack. It was very sad.
