And so to Sweet 17. What a splendid name for a Bursar.  Estates Bursar, you shall be.  Can you organise the demolition of the bicycle sheds - they are being used for the most ghastly of things, of which I dare not speak.  Personally, I blame Professor Bugbear and Commander Leo for lowering the tone of the academy.

Mr Renaud (or may I call you Gus)

Is your application as an art teacher anything to do with having watched "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie"?  If so, your intentions are clearly not honourable and you would be banned forthwith.

There will be no life drawing either, before you start salivating at that idea.

Should there be any breach of the rules, I do believe in caning.... (in my study, of course)

On the basis that abstract expressionism is regarded by many as the golden age of American art, the answer, Mr Renaud (as I clearly can't call you Gus) no.  We are a British school for British gals with British jobs for British people (and I coined this phrase irrespective of that socialist at No 10, Mr Gordon Brown).

But abstract expressionism as a movement is marked by its use of brushstrokes and texture, the embracing of chance and the frequently massive canvases, all employed to convey powerful emotions through the glorification of the act of painting itself.   It did lead to New York replacing Paris as the centre for comtemporary art.  So, on balance, Mr Renaud, you are now Head of Art.
