Isn't there a limit on how much ciggies and booze you can bring back?

Re the ciggies, I believe there is a law in France in that you are only allowed to have 200 cigarettes on your person, so in theory you could be stopped and have them confiscated. Having said that we bought back 500€ worth of ciggies from Spain (that's a lot of clopes) for BIL and didn't get stopped. And when the douanes stopped him leaving France for the UK they let him through with them. Somebody else might have a reference to this law.

Yes Susie I have friends who go down there regularly and they have said there are limits.  I don't remember the exact limits, but they were on the small scale.  I guess it would be a question of whether you get stopped and/or searched or not.

I have never been.

Olive oil and olives(fresh and tinned) Tinned seafood.

Brandy for cooking(same as drinking brandy) but much cheaper. Balsamic vinegar.

As another poster said........have a look around, there are lots of things cheaper in Spain than France.
