2. And I thought I was the only one "re-taught" to write using my right hand. I was told to sit on my left had so that I couldn't use it to write with. I even had it tied to the leg of the desk so that I couldn't sneak it up onto the desk and swap hands when the teacher wasn't looking!!!! How things have changed
3. You have really depressed me Jonzjob.... This year in our orchard we have NO apples, NO peaches, NO cherries and about 6 plums on 1 tree. This is our second year here and last year we had a great crop, especially peaches and apples. I can't understand it. Any ideas anyone ??? Anyone else with the same problem??? Cheers
4. Can you do anything via "Manage my Booking" ? I don't think your chances of a refund would be that great, but maybe for some kind of fee you could change it to a later date. Good Luck
5. Yes - I replied to your other posting [Www]
6. If you buy LSD, you may see more than the Tour de France [:D] We have both Samsung and Sharpe LCD Tv's and both are really good. Probably the best thing to do, is go to Auchan or Darty or someone with plenty of choice and watch for a while to see which you like best. I don't think many makes get a Bad name these days, but I can vouch for the 2 mentioned. The only thing I would say is the Samsung gives more "red" in the picture. But it's all a matter of personal viewing choice. Take your flask and sandwiches and enjoy your day out watching TV in the supermarket!!!
7. Yes - Used it last week - If my memory is correct it cost 6.50 euro
8. We moved from dept 46 to dept 24 and had to change registration on the car. The only cost was the price of the plates at Norato (spelling could be wrong!)
9. Football..... Tennis...... Big Brother...... Little Big Brother...... Britains got Talent!!! plus all other manner of wannabes trying to sing and then all the fly on the wall rubbish.... I can't decide whether the TV companies have lost the plot or I have lost the will to live[8-)]

Soda water

Can you still buy a Soda Syphon and the little gas things that you use to carbonate the water??
11. There is a new photo machine in our local Auchan. I went last week for photos for French Driving licence. It is one of those irritating machines that talk to you and keeps getting you to lean forward to press the next button (hamlet ad springs to mind, but with more hair!!!) In the midst of all the instructions it did say "loose the specs" which I did. Then comes the fun - Where are those darned buttons I need to press[:-))][8-)][:-))]

buying stamps

I don't have a problem with our Post Office. Like Clair our post "mistress" is not the chatty type[;-)] The place that really gets me is our local Super U. The milk is fresh when I pick it up off the shelf, but by the time I have managed to pay for it...... Yoghurt anybody???
13. When we bought a French car, we were in rented accomodation with no bills in our name. We got a letter from the Marie. Would that work?
14.
Failing that, you could try one of the saynoto0087 numbers published here http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php .
Just had a look at this site - what a great idea. I have saved it to Favourites for future use - Thanks Cat
15. And 24 is 52 Euros...... + another 24.40 if you have a medical.
16. Thanks Sunday Driver, I was hoping you would be logged on. It's good to know your "broken bones and haggis with fingers" are not interfering with your sound advice. I hope you are both making good progress and all will be back to normal soon
17. The OH and I followed the forum link to change or UK driving licences to French ones. Both UK licences (EU versions) need to be renewed next year anyway as will are 10 years old , so we decided to go French. Went to the prefecture with all relevant documents, but were told we needed a medical if we wanted to keep our towing rights. We half expected this, but thought we would try anyway. We now have appointments to see a designated doctor for the medicals with the view to returning to the prefecture with all paperwork complete. Today - we were talking to a French neighbour and asked him why was a medical required. He said, for him it was not necessary, but also asked "Why do you want a French driving Licence? Surely it would be better to have an International driving Licence!!" Has anyone gone down this route? Would it be a better idea to go International? All advice and suggestions would be appreciated Regards - Nell
18. We always use Moneycorp for transfers. Have looked at other companes but Moneycorp always seems to come out on top.
19. Take it easy - Glad to see you back on the keyboard.
20. Like many others I have only just picked up this thread. Love and Best Wishes to Sunday Driver and his Good Lady wife. I hope you both have a good and speedy recovery. Kindest Regards Nell [kiss]
21. I have used a butchers block for about 30 years - Use olive oil - let it soak in overnight and then wash off any excess the next morning with hot (slightly soapy) water. When you are away for a few days or even a few weeks, cover with lots of olive oil and leave it while you are away. Works a treat. Really it only needs to be oiled about once a week.
22.
Mind you, they are probably the very same people who drive all the way back to the UK to have their cars MOT'ed, taxed and insured.  Isn't there a wonderful North country saying, there's nowt so queer as folk?
Now that Mr Darling Brown slapped a big increase on 4x4's and bigger cars, just watch the race to get cars re-registered in France. Still I suppose this can only be a good thing. There should be less UK registered cars driving around with void insurance.
23.
Quite. I get a bit fed up with the people who buy houses next to circuits and then expect the circuit to be closed down to suit them.
The circut is not up and runnning yet, so the people you get a bit fed up with, Don't exist....
24. Cheers Ron. Believe it or not I had already written that statament on my 2047 form, but had forgotten about it! Is it time for a glass of vin yet?
25. Ron wrote -  So he's taking bricks to Liverpool He is a She ...... (You should have gone to Specsavers)[Www]  Nell not Neil Ernie - I need a keyboard like the one you're after, but I definitely don't want the facial hair from your other photo (Ron really will think I speak with a very deep voice[blink]) Frenchie - You are my friend forever [kiss] Bon week-end to all
