  1. Boil a frog, glossop,if you look in you atlas is in the North of england on the derbyshire/cheshire borders, try looking under G for Glossop!
  2. can you see the search on the top right of the forum,if yes ,press on that and pose your question,if not then......well there are better qualified on here who will answer better than I....
  3. Hob Nobs in Bulgaria?  We went for our honeymoon nearly 20 years ago( should have done a murder!!) Beautifull place ,don`t think we spent any money...nothing to buy...even struggled to get undies for the other half(talk about traveling light!!!!) Got some lovely pottery though, still have some of it,crighky its traveled well, 2 UK house moves and 1 to france!
  4. Our water is also lovely, but when I go to my dad ...near the pennines, suposed to be a good sourse....I can`t drink it ,tastes well, yuk.
  5. SB ,I think we have been down this road before and I am not unsympathetic to your cause. Is your son healthy in every other sense, in that he is active, alert and has energy? if yes I would leave him to his eating habits, but just try to ensure that he has a balanced diet without being obvious in what he does eat. Chance would be a fine thing in our house...send them with a biscuit type snack in the morning and a piece of fruit in the afternoon ,only to see their friends at the school gates with a snack size pack of coco pops and 2 kit kat biscuits ....don`t you just know they are going to share.....but not the dentist bill!
  6. Why have the postings gone wider(probably a techie term I dont know) as I now have to slide the bar at the bottom of the page back and forth ,back and forth to read the posts????
  7. Blimy will, when do you have time to work properly, what with moderating ,responding to posts and blowing your mind with weired web sites.....loved the kittens but not so sure about the rest!
  8. what I did find amusing in the `Bathroom scene` was that the loo roll...papier hygienique..was on the floor.....how hygienique is that! That said ....have had an amusing couple of hours ,seing as its chucking it down and more like 2am its that dark!
  9. Is this a wind up? just about every subject the poster has covered has been discussed as recently as today...Health ,E111 to name a couple. there is a search button at the top right hand corner ,please use it before you pose any more silly questions!
  10. Do you think my neighbour knows something I don`t? I am sat here having 1/2 an hour with my mates(you lot!) when a waggon turns up.......can you tell I`ve settled into village life? so I have to have a nosey.....Its the Fioul tanker, cant even think of having a pair of jeans on never mind a fire! Still could be worse, spoke with my dad last night, Asda have got the Christmas stock on the shelves
  11. Cheers for the correction Miki, it was the E301,but you never know perhaps there is an E101 and that could be their next request! We don`t have that auto ringback thingy....how do you get that?  Between The problems with ASSEDIC and CPAM I havn`t got time to go to work.....another trip to Montpellier hospital next week with the youngest for checkups, that`ll be another shedload of paperwork to sort out!  not that I`m complaining
  12. Seems to me that the functionaires at the ASSEDIC go on courses to hoodwink folks!  The story of SB and Miki could have been written by Mr O they are so alike. 12 months ago having been told `you must work one day in france` . Easy, for him indoors any way ,been there ,done that, decared his `menstrual situation` as we jokingly call it,to get the same letters as SB,sort that out with a 30 mile round trip to their office and also ask where is the allocation chomage as more than one day has been worked.....AH ,your E101 is not complete!!!!.........they have had it nearly 12 months ,and now notice a tick missing Sorted that via the correct UK dept, just waiting for the next excuse, lets see? perhaps his folder is the wrong colour,or filled the paperwork in blue instead of black or even his signature was slightly out of the box(don`t they get het up about that_____ I am sure Mr O does it on purpose!!) happy days !
  13. love it here in 66,and the climate realy suits our youngest ,who was always at the GP in the Uk,(average every 6 weeks) has visited a Doctor once in 12 months.....only so she could be put on the system for her syndrome.
  14. And don`t forget that when you decide to go to Uk as a` Health Tourist` in a NHS hospital (non emergency) and read all the signs that state you are a UK resident and sign the forms to declare the same.......well don`t come running back to france with your tail between your legs expecting sympathy.....seems to me you want the best of both worlds, and as my dad always says `its either or either`
  15. seeing as the cats away and the mice are at  play and you lot are intent on trying to shock... When hubby and I lived in Turkey for a while we knew a native who lived on an island and he told us that during the winter and the weather was too rough to get to the mainland,to satify his manly needs he used to put a picture of his favorite lady(who lived on the mainland) on the back of his donkey and er well um you know....:blush though it could have been an ass Aparantly one could do all sorts with a chicken as well!!!!

    CARTES VITALES

We have been here a year now and still no Carte Vitale! we do have the social security numbers so no probs with healthcare. Do go to the office and check out why all your names arn`t on the attestasion....they had missed our daughters of ours ,even though we had filled in all forms ,shown birth certs etc,bit frightening really as our youngest was about to have a 4 day hospital stay !
  17. TU you make me smile your quip about a friend sending you soap brought back memories from about 1987...I had just handed in my notice at work and told all my work coleagues that hubby and I were off in our 9 metre yacht around the Med for two years(it turned into 5 !) I was forever being asked if I had eaten garlic again....of course....One work mate ,who was suposed to be intelligent asked `where will you get your garlic now?????` duh! So Nathalie ,next time you go to the pub/winebar with a group of friends ,why not see how far into the night you are before one of your mates has a whinge/moan!  part of lifes rich tapestry
  18. Have made use of the situation, didn`t get the deal though as we are traveling in half term, still brilliant price though 120 euros return for 3 passengers. happy hillidays.....just need the wooly jumpers now!
  19. .....next job,to clean this computer it is going verrrry slow!
  20. we are with callserve.....don`t know too much about them, but am assured by Mr O it is cheap at 3 cents per min to uk...don`t think there is a connection charge but will look at our acc later when I make my daily 30 min call to dad. I`m sure Mr O will read this thread with interest when he gets home ,theres not much gets past him if theres monsy in the tittle!
  21. I doubt it ,it was blooming expensive to breathe the air there 15 years ago! probably the most expensive scoop of icecream i will ever enjoy......especialy as I didn`t buy it Beautifull place from what I remember, but scary naviation...to many rocks!
  22. Cheers Rob,all at ours are as well as can be expected,Mr O up to his usual trick.....working too hard! you have our address ,come and chill out for an afternoon whenyou are next over, who knows perhaps you`ll be in the money by then...as long as its more than the 30 pieces of silver you can provide the champers ,we so food quite well! (marmite butties and shreaded wheat for afters)
  23. At the moment near us is like living in one of the  house makeover programes, everyone seems to be banging, drilling ,striming and then theres me with the paintbrush. I` d say though that we are in Emmerdale(without the pub...the resto closed at the end of August) where everyone has an open top company car called a tractor! and the old ladies sit in the post office hoping to catch up on the gossip! and the youths(as our 11 year old calls them ) do their courting at the bus stop.
  24. Deep breaths , in, out ,in, out ,straighten your shoulders and walk tall!!   Seriously what are they planning to develope your houses into...Runway,Brothel,Abatoire? the mind boggles.
  25. So which company did you end up traveling with...?
