1. Totaly off topic[:-))] Is your tag line grammatically correct?    ie  your  or you`re
2. Don't ask me Dick, my 13 year old has enjoyed a laugh at my expense when I said I wanted to see the "nuits de longs capots" (classic car rallaye , which visits checkpoints in villages throughout the night).................I obviously need to brush up on pronunciation!
3. This subject came up in conversation recently. Is there an age at which a minor can legaly be offered a drink in their own homes ? and what about functions in public places ie salles des fetes /restaurants?
4.
You big babies!  It's not just for men only - my 7 year old daughter had to have a cystoscopy - she cried too bless her.  She had suffered with quite a few urine infections and it's standard procedure to make sure everything is working properly and that no damage has been done by the infections.
Is that the procedure where the bladder is filled up through the tube to near bursting point?  If so my youngest also had that done aged 3. The point to this original post was what? to once again point out that if a man has a runny nose he has double pneumonia whereas we women mearly have colds............  That said ,you were so brave and hope you are in good health
5. We too spent a lovely Sunday in brilliant sunshine enjoying a BBQ with some forum members..........great day if you are looking in. Then on Monday we too had some snow flurries and high winds and today .....well it is flipping freezing!!! with a more strong winds and some snow.
6. [:D][blink][:-))] This was said to daughter no 1 in French lesson today. They were discussing regional accents , and prof asked her where in UK she was from, so folks from Leeds and  London  obviously  speak more posh than  what we does  ( near Manchester) [:'(]
7. Thank you for taking the time to reply........we are still waiting on a response from the pro d'Anglais.
8. Can someone explain this saying to me please?
9. We had a flurry of snow for about 10 mins this morning, the temps are down to about 8, which compared to yesterdays temps of 20 +  feels freezing..........we are just off to reclaim some wood from a tree that was blown down at the local supermarket on Saturday, It will dry off nicely for next year[:D]
10. I will pick up on your last line. If all you have eaten for 3 weeks is bread then I should shop somewhere else, as for your 90 centimes, you could have had a dozen eggs one day , a goats cheese log the other  a salad the next a tin of tomatos an onion and a bag of spaghetti the day after . I would not try living as you say and would not put my girls through it in any country!
11. You mentioned that you walk with your children a distance of just over a KM, this morning on my way to the market ,  I zero'd my car to see where a KM and a half would get me.........to be honest I was suprised ! You need to walk a little faster, If the distance you say is true, then my youngest had nearly double that in UK to walk to school aged 4........no bus route and we did it in 20 mins. A good coat and shoes is the trick (she had to wear a skirt for uniform) and we lived in the pennines. When we first moved to France, we were a bit last minute and had not sorted out a bus pass so she had to walk to her school in the next village (the distance I timed this morning, 2003.........year of the Canicule, school started at the end of August and it was boiling, the road was not shaded at all, my hubby was finalising things in UK so we had not got use of a car........we used our brolly at midday,( no school diners here unless both parents are working) untill a local mum realised what the problem was and kindly offered us lifts at midday. I hope you get what you ask for, but do not be supprised if you do not.
12. As has been said , I feel it depends on time of day, the patients history and what other emergencies are in A&E at the time. I am a frequent user of the departememt both in UK and France, I have waited 5 hours in UK and on the next visit been in and out within 10 mins....(this when youngest was bored in Assembly in UK and wound a loose bit of very fine knicker elastic so tight round her finger that it was blue/white....the Triage nurse used the instrument that normaly takes stiches out) We were through A&E so quick on one visit in France after being XRayed and bandaged that I forgot to fill out my cheque stub! I phoned my dad the other day and he informed me he had had a bad fall , he mentioned going to casualty and having an X ray , seeing a doctor and given follow up instructions, he didn't mention the length of time he was there, that said , it could not have been too long as he would have mentioned it , and commented that he had been late for the meal he would have normaly eaten (he is diabetic and ensures he eats every 4 hours!)
13. The law must have changes drastically over the last few years, as when I appled for family allowance there was a part on the form that asked who you wanted to receive the family allowance.........I filled it in for me, as it would have been me going and buying the nappies! Has your daughter spoken to the dpartment that deals with this as I am sure she could change the details IE if she had changed banks etc.......So how do all the unemployed parents claim their family allowance.? Another point, If the Flat is in your daughters name as she is the carer of the children  then surely she can get HIM evicted.......It is her flat. I should go and se the CAB again.
14. Can anyone tell me when this 2nd Trimester started? Our eldest has just arrived home with her report and on looking at one subject moyen it seemed low, she has gone back through her controls for when she says the trimester started , we have calculated her moyen to be about25% higher than the teacher has worked it out to. So before we go showing ourselves and her up would like to know if we got the date correct[geek]   We come under Montpellier.
15. Lucky Jim by Kingsley Amis. It wasn't something I chose, it was in a box of books given to me by a neighbour.
16. The Tramontane IS freezing! I have just been laughed at for having my gloves on........by our Danish neighbours who think that they are in the Tropics[blink] Today I have had to pick up all the outdoor wooden furniture and retrieve the well fastened on tablecloth from nextdoors tree....and some dry wood from our pile flew off and dented the car wing!
17. And speaking of ladders................ I went to Gifi today, I wanted some hair accessories for the girls. Once I had located the stand i realised that the viewing area was rather compact as there was a high stepladder behind me. A quick weigh up of the situation and knowing thare wasn't anyone up the ladders I carried on looking at the hair stuff. I then heard Mr O say "look out " to me and he moved away.  There was a woman half way up the ladder with a HUGE storrage box , trying to put it on a shelf about 8 feet from the ground, she knocked some stuff off the shelf, which just missed me. When i exclaimed out loud about what had happened ...........she looked at me as though I should have appologised that I was in the shop! does anyone remember my last shopping trip there for a wooden chopping board?
18. Yipeeee!   My beloved did system restore today, and now I definatly need new glasses!  Heaven only knows what the problem was. Thanks for all your help.

21. Thank you so much for the detailed reply, I got to the part where the pixel size is shown and it was at the lower end, when I tried to drag the slide along to get it to the middle or higher end it will not drag. Any other suggestions/solutions to this?
22. Oh help someone please!!!!!   I have switched the computer on this morning and everything is shouting at me. The screen is huge, so big in fact that I can only type/read 10 words at a time , the heading and back/forward arrows are about the size of a 2 cent piece, I have tried messing with font size but all that has done is made the bit i am reading minute but the page stays Massive............As it goes at the moment I could probably read the screen from the other end of the room! It feels like when I have had new glasses and everything becomes clearer[:-))]
23.
And it was so warm we had a barbecue in January this year, everyone in shirtsleeves - is the weather crackers or what?  [:D] I'm convinced that I remember it snowing briefly in early June 1975 - but that was Sunderland and no-one else seems to remember it ....
It definatly snowed on June the first 1979 in Oldham.........I remember that clearly because It was a girls 21 st birthday in the office I was junior/dogs body at and the Florist couldn't get the van up the hill to deliver the flowers.........who had to go and meet it!?[:-))].
24. Around here it is called la pouce..........and our youngest has first shout at both!
