Like you I am a single lady in her fifties who is considering a move to France. I am coming to Charente for a holiday in September and intend to do a spot of househunting while I am there. What made you choose this area? My original choice was Northern France so that I could get back to blighty quickly if family were taken ill or something urgent arose. But the Charente area looks so nice and the weather would be warmer , ideal for my (not too serious) arthritis. I am avidly scanning the websites and magazines to see what I can afford, just me and the 2 cats and a guest room would be ideal.Anyway best of luck , hope you find someone to have fun with.
