When in France  which is quite a lot now we  are both retired we visit places of interest.work in the garden visit relatives etc.....In the UK  I give 3 days a week to taking people to Southampton General Hospital  for treatment  mostly from Dorset / Wiltshire villages for which I get a millage allowance . ...An observation ........Over the years I have met many guys who have nice cars in their drives who in their later years have sight .and other problems that mean they can no longer drive .or guys who are temporarly off the road through injury.. they sit looking at their cars .....wife sitting at home with them ...she cannot drive     When I ask  wives why they never learned  I hear  " My husband  never wanted me to touch his car ! " ..........Big... Big mistake ..you should always teach your wife to drive !

Quite right Frederick

hopefully all husband and wife couples (partners) who move to rural France (or anywhere else rural !) make sure both  drive or they could find themselves in a very difficult position when the only driver is unable to drive . Living in a town / city would not pose the same problem.

Renaud - that is so funny and so apt. I 'm also enrolling husband in these courses, if I can get him away from Bridge-on-Line. The children were nearly as bad eg "has the ironing been done?" used to bring on apoplexy. As if I was a robot [:@]They had to do their own eventually. By the way where is the OP, Bugbear? Haven' t noticed his postings lately.

Renaud

Could you possibly let me know which month you plan to run the course ' Closing Doors, it is possible by the male species?' I believe you inimated this might take the form of a discussion with actual involvement, showing how it is done and the various aspects and  consequences of leaving doors open in cold weather.

Is this correct?
