Funny how all the stuffed shirts who never watch it know all about it though!![8-)] Coverage out of proportion Derek? Of course it is but John Sargeant is a well known figure, he was the Political Editor of ITN for many years and on most people's TV on a nightly basis.Anyway, a bit of trivia makes a nice change from all the crap being churned about the so called credit crunch where a load of people who could not afford to have loans and credit cards in the first place have now had them taken away and don't know what to do to get their little pampered brats toys and games they cannot afford!! Woman today on GMTV HAD to resort to a loan shark to buy her kids their Christmas toys, but may have done better not buying the plasma screen TV on the wall instead!! I've been a fan of the programme since it started, but I don't watch it to the exclusion of all else and I often have never heard of the 'celebs' who participate, including the woman who won last year. I have never voted for anyone.I'm glad that Sergeant has gone because I thought he was turning it into a farce. Last week, Cherie Lunghi, also an older than average contestant and a much better dancer, went out because he was in. Because it has been associated with CiN in previous years there's an assumption by the less observant viewers that this is still the case. It isn't. There's no charitable donation aspect to this year's phone calls. I wonder if that's why this year seems to be bitchier and more competitive than in previous years. Everyone would have applauded JS getting 40% of the popular vote each week because that would be a huge sum being raised for charity. Cheri Lungi he maintained was so embarrassed (sp) by her frock that it had a bearing on how she danced. Also the poor girl wearing the lampshade got low votes because she looked so tacky. Glad JS went but thought their last dance was quite charming. Wish Cheri was still in it though.At the risk of annoying the "reality" haters, I can't wait for the return of Dancing on Ice. To think some of these celebs have never been on ice skates before and to what they achiieve at the end of the programme is amazing.
