My favourites were the Hotspur and Adventure. Alf Tupper (The tough of the track) was brilliant. He trained on fish and chips, none of the isotonic drinks for him, and he carried his spikes and shorts in a brown paper parcel. They don't make em like that anymore.

Rockfist Rogan and Limp along Leslie were other heroes of mine, which none of you kids will remember.

My comic was The Eagle (I think).  Dan Dare and all that.

Wasn't there one called The Topper?  That just got dredged up from the memory bank.

This is all a bit like Saturday Morning Pictures at the Granada.

Yep, I remember The Topper, and also the Beezer I think is was from DC Thompsen.

Am reading The Walking Dead comics at the moment on my computer, they're strangely addictive. The tv series is good too.

I think a lot of mums were against American  comics probably explaining the swap rate. I remember getting the Eagle also reading most of the others at one of my friends. There was one called the Wizard that featured stories about some guy called Wilson who could run a 3 minute mile  among other feats.
