Carte de fidelite

I'm sure this must have been asked before but can't find it anywhere when I've searched.

Can someone please explain to me how the Intermarche and Leclerc Cartes de Fidelite work; ie how do you 'get back' what you have accumulated?  Do I have to actually do something or do I wait to be asked at the checkout?  If I have to do something then is there a particular time when I should be doing it?  I've looked on their websites but can't seem to see anything - though that might just be down to my limited French [:$]

Many thanks

Not sure how Intermarche works but at Leclerc it is "cash" back against your shopping bill, you have a bank type card or a small bar code card which is read each time you shop and you have to put in your personal code at the card reader, BUT,   BUT it ain't a Tesco card and you only get the money earned at the shop that you spend it at, so if you have three Leclerc's that you use,  you have an account at each, they are NOT interchangeable..  They will tell you how much you have and you can keep it or have it knocked off your bill.

SuperU/ Hyper U are different again you can earn points but as with Leclerc not on fags or petrol, but these points can be gained at any branch of U and are exchangeable against a catalogue of gifts.

Intermarché is the same as Leclerc, except that the points added on at

each branch are not separate from each other.  The Leclerc points

expire at the end of the year - so you need to use them by the end of

December.  Just say "L'enlevez svp" and they will offset them

against your bill.  As far as I know the Intermarché points carry

on until you use them.   With  Super U you can use your

points to buy vouchers - and so use the points against the value of

your  shopping if you wish

Actually, at Intermarché, you are accumulating euros, not points.  So let's say you have 20€ on your card (it lists how much you have at the bottom of your receipt) - that means you can get use that to pay for 20€ worth of groceries next time around.  You do have to wait 48 hours after you've accumulated them to use them though.

Thursdays are the day to go, because they double everything - for example, if they're offering you 50 cents back on a bottle of wine, that 50 cents becomes 1 euro.

I usually just say "je voudrais utiliser mon cumule" or something along those lines.

And when I signed up for my card, I was told that euros earned at one Intermarché could not be spent at another.

Sorry - yes of course you're right about the euros not points at

Intermarché - but I understood that they could be accumulated at

different branches.  I'll have to see if I can find the small

print....

Edit:  just found this on their web site:

Vous pouvez cumuler des euros dans tous les magasins participant au

programme carte de fidélité, mais les utiliser uniquement dans le

magasin qui vous a délivré la carte (hors livres et carburants).

This too  has puzzled us at L'Eclerc, Do you earn euros on the full amount of your shopping bill or just on the items that are on special offer. Over the last four shops at L'Eclerc we have not increased our euros "earnings" dispite quite costly shopping bills.

I've always wondered about the Intermarche card and never dared ask!  I've had mine for nearly 4 years now, have only ever used it in one store and have never "claimed" anything on it.  Am I too late?  Have I perhaps got a nice little surprise in store?  Although I hardly ever go there since we got a HyperChampion closer to home.

Now Champion - well, they've kitted out my kitchen for me.  I have a slow cooker, a steamer, 3 hairdryers (B&B rooms), a mini-hachoir, an electric hand-held whisk, a spice rack and a blender and I'm just about to get a bread maker!  I've often thought these items wouldn't last long, most being unheard of brands (although both the slow cooker and steamer are Russell Hobbs) but as they've all been free it doesn't really matter!!! [:D]

I believe the Intermarche amount gets cancelled at the end of every year unless you spend it.  Next time you use your card, your accumulated amount should appear at the bottom of your receipt.  I collect mine up and use it in December to offset the cost of Christmas shopping.

Oh, and by the way, if you have those natty little key-ring cards, you cannot use them to reclaim your bonus, only to accumulate it.

At the last count, I had just under five million fidelity cards...

I need another purse to carry them all!

Leclerc is each store.  When I went to Nantes every day I parked my car in their car park before catching the tram so I did a bit of shopping there.  Never very much but each time I was asked if I would like the 20 or 30 centimes in hand.  At Ploërmel where I do a lot more shopping, they never ask.  I must have hundreds in euros earned there.  They will usually ask in December.

I prefer Super U or Champion.  I've got some lovely gifts....[;-)]  Never go to Intermarché.

Not so Alexis, you only need one Leclerc card.  I have one from Gaillac and that is valid at all the other Leclerc stores, however, what I think you meant was as I posted earlier you have a mini account at each store that you shop in and these accounts are specific to that store and canot be added to from other stores.

Leclerc points are accumulated and represented as euros, your balance is shown on your latest till receipt.

They are accumulated on Marque Repère products and Nos Régions on du Talent products, plus others as advertised in special promos.  These are clearly marked on the supermarket shelves.

Points are double on Tuesdays.

Look out for the regular promos advertised in the magazines - you get some very good points rewards.

We do our regular shopping in Leclerc and reckon to get about 150 euros back over a year's shopping.

Thanks everyone!  Think I've got all that but shall we have a recap ...

    • I need to shop at Intermarche on Thursdays and Leclerc on Tuesdays [;-)]

    • I simply request that I want to use my 'accumulated amount' at the checkout - before end of December for Leclerk but any time for Intermarche

    • I need different cards for different stores at Leclerc

      • Quick note: when we came to France we lived near Jonzac (17) and I got a card from the local Lerclerc.  We then moved and my nearest Lerclerc became Riberac (24).  I took my Jonzac card as I was unsure what to do and they simply transferred my details, i.e. I still use the card that says Jonzac on it BUT I have no idea if any value from Jonzac was transferred - though thinking about it I probably did this in January so any Jonzac total would have been lost last December.  Why didn't they just start me afresh then with a new Riberac card? - No don't worry about it, life's too short!

    • My receipts from Intermarche don't say my cumulative amount, just how much I've earned that visit.  Something to look forward to there perhaps.

    • My latest Lerclerc receipt says I've got a total of 319 points.  It also says that my 'Cumul Disponible' is 13.28 euros.  Does that sound right?  I seem to have spent fortunes in Leclerc over the last year so 13 euros don't sound like an awful lot [:(]

Ah well, at least I know how to get at it now

(...  wonder where my nearest Super U is )

I have two totals on my leclerc receipts, one is an amount which goes up slowly, the other is points, once my points reach 5000 I go to the reception desk and ask them to convert to euros, its around 70e for 5000 points, then when I come to pay I ask for the amount deducted,   for me its usually around 150 euros each year I get back.

the Casino card offers you "bons d'achat" for your points - although it's worth looking at prices first as they also offer reductions off goods too. The wine I looked at ( Chateauneaf la pape and pineau des charentes) was cheaper with the reduction, but the white goods (fryer, toaster, hair-styly-thingies) were cheaper at carrfour...

YMMV :)

I too have a wallet full of fidelity cards, it gets a little embarrasing sometimes when i get to the checkout and have to remind myself which store I am in and what code to use!

I have to have my fix of intermarche on thursdays, they have some great promotions and the children get treats they wouldn't normaly get from the biscuit of icecream section if they are double points, I have accumulated 29 euros in 3 weeks.

In the words of Just katies office mates "what am I like"

Super-U

I think you can only keep the points for 2 yrs from issue of card and good luck to all when renewing your cards! The words "palaver" and "jobs-worth" spring to mind! [8-)] That said I have had some good "gifts" with my points especially when they we getting rid of some of the "gifts" for half the amount of points.[:)]

I also have a card for our local les Routiers, you need 6 stamps to fill the card (one per person per meal) and then you get a one free meal on the next visit.[8-|]

I usually only go to Intermarché on Thursdays, just to take advantage of the "double euros" deal.  For example, yesterday, I got 38€ of groceries and used 18€ off my card, leaving me 20€ to pay.  On top of that, I accumulated another 10€ on my card because of the sale items I'd bought.

Don't know for Intermarché but Leclerc's "cumul disponible" at the end of November definitely has to be used by the end of December that year.

With our Ticket Leclerc we don't get points shown on our till receipts - only euros.  What are these points all about?  But typically we get 5 euros back on a weekly shopping trip as we buy quite a lot of marque repère goods.

I had a shock last week - I thought Leroy Merlin was a Caribbean Magician - so when my wifelet said we were going to visit his new paladium in Perigueux I dressed up especially,

I found a green and white design building based on a circus tent - I think they were waiting to add the red.

It seemed OK in the foyer with a game of bingo going on - though I expected jugglers at the least - boy was I dismayed on enetering the arena - it is a macho temple to the power tool!

I had been fooled into visiting a consumer church to buy a thing that hangs from the ceiling that the sun shines from.

To keep on subject they had a store card that they charge €8 a year for. But if you sign someone else up you both get 300 points. It is all in Englsish yes Englsish and there seem to be few terms and conditions.

So I imagine a circle of signer uppers all earning 300 points with spiralling points accrued and or a group of people sharing a card as when you reach 1000 points you get 10% of for one day.

Or we all meet up with the person who has accumulated 1000 points as they are allowed to use the card as much as they want on that one day.

Sounds simple...

Sorry.  It's both in that case.  I know it's true for Intermarche, didn't know for certain about LeClerc.  So sorry to confuse even further a confused situation.  Somewhere, I have all the leaflets about these cards so will get them together and check the terms BEFORE I post next time!

I have just cashed mine as and when,  but I have never had the slate wiped clean at leclerc in December!!

Not sure why some leclercs do euros and points, but  my card does both leclercs in St Nazaire and Guerande, St Nazaire has points and euros     but Guerande just has euros!

I spend on average around 200 euros per week to gain my approx 130 euros a year.
