1. The problem with all these press reports is that for the most part it is speculation. If you open the Daily Mail every morning then it would be very easy to become pretty depressed. I do not know anyone who has been hit by the "credit crunch" and for me 20008 was a very good and profitable year. I always look at my cup and find it half full not half empty. So lets have a bit of optimism for 2009. Happy new year and may it bring happiness to you all.
2. Wow deported now that is ott. Did you know him? Is there any press reports on the case I would really like to look them up if possible.
3. Hi Thanks for that, it is a very in depth review. It will take a little time to digest.
4. Hi No it isn't. If you walk from the established pub towards the Place Carnot as you reach said Place turn left along the rue Armagnac and it is about 50mts on the left. I had a look the other afternoon but they were closed they open at 17.00 except on friday when they open earlier.
5. Hello Has anyone used a Canon 40D or got any opinions about it. I would be gratefull for any info.
6. I think you will find that the Heritage shell does fall within the DVLA definition, perhaps you should discuss it on the MGOC forum and see what the concensus is. What is your opinion about the rebuilding of a series Landrover onto a new chassis with new or reconditioned parts, or would you advocate welding the old one. I don't think adding the power steering kit to the MGB is a bad thing it certainly improves the steering and the five speed converion is a real improvement on the overdrive. Only 20years with MG's Ernie you are but a callow youth I bought my first MG (a red MGA) in 1964 and have owned MGB roadsters and andGTs although the present one is the first for 22years. I do apreiciate your thoughts on the purist line but you have also got to realise that there are people out there with diferent ideas. In saying that I am looking for a late Healey 3000 which will have to be really original and unmodified.
7. Hello So what is allowed for instance do we have to revert to radial tyres. My MGB has been fitted with power steering, telescopic rear shocks, a five speed g/box conversion and a kenlow fan plus some interior upgrades and was rebuilt onto a heritage shell. Will this be allowed or will it have to be brought back to standard?
8. It's really pretty good. I have just bought a new camera in the uk and saved nearly 200€ on the french price. There are certainly plenty of bargains to be had now. If the pound plunges a bit more it will be time to by myself a Healey 3000which I have wanted for a while and is now looking like a grab.. I had a really good time during Maggies time made a bit of dosh and got out in 1990 just in time. I have to say that the crunch aint hurting us much in France customers keep rolling in and spending.

OUCH

Brent spot is trading at $59.67. Wheat is down maybe with oil prices down wheat will be there to eat not to pour into vehicles.
10. They can ask for whatever they like. Market forces come into play and if you are desperate you will pay whatever they ask.
11. There is no such thing as a "too powerful car". The problem is the plebs can't afford them.
12. So if I ask a British or German company to make and install a fireplace they are not allowed to do the istallation. Or if I buy a aircon system for my depot from a Spanish company they are not allowed to intall it. Or if I buy a machine which needs specialist installation from a Italian company they are not to do that. I don't think so.
13. It's called open market competition, we all have to deal with it.
14.
Hi Clair, can a business use the cheque emploi system then?  I was told it was only for private individuals hoping to hire a domestic assistant (gardener - not landscape- cleaner, babysitter etc).  We have a micro bic(commercant) and we would love to be able to employ some assitance in the new year but there is no way we can afford the cotis!  The way i understand cheque emploi is that you paid (just an example and probably not accurate) for example 10 euros per hour,  that is given directly via the cheque to the employee.  What actually is taken from your bank account is 12 euros, but at the end of the year you can re-claim half that back ie 6 euros against your tax liability. I am not great at understanding all these rules and i would appreciate your help in clarifying this if you can.  Thank you.
If you are paying smic the employers charges aren't too bad no more than 20% but maybe less.
15. They are there to protect the hunters. There are so many Brit tree huggers wandering around the countryside muttering to themselves that the hunters felt threatened and called for protection. If you wander about the countryside you really should learn the french for "stop, armed chasse police, put your hands on your head, get onto your knees now lay flat on the ground" if you do not follow these instructions you are liable to be shot.
16. I thought it was ok to do a sorn after all it's off the road in the uk.I know quite a few people who do this and have done for a long time. If it was so illegal surely these people would have been taken to task.
17. Just do a SORN. The french CT is meaningless unless you are going to register it in France. Try AGF for insurance they don't seem to ask about registering or not.
18.
Don't know about clink but I think you will run a significant risk of getting pulled and what transpires from there on could range from nothing to siezure, depending on which side of bed the plod who pulls you got out on and which way the wind is blowing [:'(] Your best bet is to take out day insurance from one of the several companies who offer it online, you're then bombproof. Just Google 'Day Car Insurance', you fill in a form and pay and they email you a certificate, easy peasy and for the sake of a few quid it's a no brainer.
Well Ernie I tried three day insurance providers. One won't insure cars reg before 1993, one requires uk residency and the other couldn't come up with a quote for a 1971 MGB. So it looks like I will have to go armed with the details of my pet solicior.
19. This is pretty interesting. I have bought a car in the uk, it's tax exempt (it's got it's a current disc) with a new mot but it will have french insurance. I am going to bring it to France in September it will show up as uninsured on these camera thingies they have all over the place. Do you think I will get a tug and end up in clink for a couple of days?
20. If you form a sarl and you aren't a gerant majorataire (don't own more than 49% of the shares) then you are just a emlpoyee and pay your social conrtibutions on the salary that you draw.
21. I say good on you Ryanair. Protect your profits and your shareholders interests. If you want to book a ticket through a dodgy third party then you have to accept the consequenses.
22. Could someone tell me how to join your holier than thou flog and hang them society?
23. Try this link for Castrol xl 20/50 http://www.mtk-tuning.com/zoom.php?rec=19560981&ref=3348
24. If the whole chain of command is to be held responsible the buck  must stop at the head of the armed forces Nic Sarco. Will he go or will he stay?
