1.
...I'm not so sure how I feel about everyone seening my PM button (its made me rearrange my dressing gown!)
[:D][:D][:D] Don't worry about it Lily. As others have intimated, we've seen it all before.[:-))]
  2.
I have noticed on my last couple of posts that an edit and delete box appear and stay and nobody else has these why's this also no PM box appears, maybe no one wants to know me I think I'll go and eat worms!
Because no one else can edit or delete your posts except you, or the Mods. Don't worry, we can all see your pm button, it's very neat![:)]   Edited to add Ooopps Coops said it too....this took ages to post.
  3.
This made me smile: English invasion of France splits into three groups
It's a particularly dreadful example of the genre, isn't it? The way it tails off into disjointed statements is excruciating. I see he's named the first two groups 'Colonists', and 'Isolationists', but he doesn't give a name to the third group - the one in which he counts himself. I nominate Sweet 17 to name that third group, as long as she's still in the same revved up mood she was when she posted earlier.[:D][:-))]
  4. Here's a very short film of the ship on the beach. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11UD9VrT_Lg&feature=user
...I am curious as I use the beach in the summer and also for the sake of the town hope it is  well gone by then ....
I'm sure it will be, but on the news the other night it was reported that the ship has attracted many day trippers, so I don't suppose too many people are complaining - for the time being.[:)]
  5.
Please do not get me wrong! ......I have NO intention of employing someone in the Black.I have known about chque emploi years before I moved here.My book will arrive at my bank in less than two weeks time.
(my bold) How have you been paying the 'odd job man' you mentioned in your OP up to now, then? Don't get me wrong - I doubt there's a soul among us who hasn't paid for some goods (eg., wood for the fire) or services (e.g, odd jobs) without the tax people being informed by either party to the transaction, but aren't you intending to run a business?  Is that OK on the cheque Emploi system?
  6. Hi Belle. Not really. Putting someones 'name' in the 'search' box won't bring up every post a forum member has made, but it will bring up any threads where the FMs user name has been mentioned, or any where their posts have been quoted by others.
  7.
...Need to plant the above to cover an area that is unsightly .... anyone know where is the best place to get the above in bulk .... need a few hundred !!!!!!
What is it that you're trying to screen from view, Caz? I noticed you enquiring about ways to attract wildlife to your pond. Native trees and shrubs will help attract wild life into your garden too, and look (indeed, be) less 'alien' than Leylandii. Here are a couple of earlier threads where the topic of native hedging was covered. http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/880515/ShowPost.aspx http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/722469/ShowPost.aspx
  8.
...Since you are a Newbie to this form, I do warn you that, like myself, there are innumerable cynics and P*** takers here!
I can't believe you don't recognise me. [:D] Thanks for the 'welcome'/warning, but I was formerly Tresco, so I'm very familiar wth your posting style.
  9.
Tress, why do you think programmes like Little Britain are so funny then and Vicky Pollard ...[:D]
Erm...I don't think they're funny. Perhaps I would if I'd ever seen either of them.[:)][:P]
  10.
Why snobby? Please elucidate!
It was your little 'pop' at working class speech patterns and child naming that bugged me, but having read back through the thread that was no worse than the snide remarks made by others about this particular mothers lifestyle (re the number of children she has, how they're schooled and where they live etc) so you're not alone.[;-)]
  11.
Dear me! Friday and Gluey is having one of his Fascist turns!
Make that Fascist Snobby turns, Gluey. [Www] Who is JE?
  12.
The stumps which I see immediately each time I open the kitchen curtains or look out of the window are straight in my sight and thus an ongoing shock each time.  I'd got used to leaves (!) and they will be at least 10-12 feet off the ground, so unless kids got help to climb, too far for most kids.  I thought the whole idea of gowing up was to learn what not (and what) to do, ie climb tree, fall out, break arm, learn not to do it again (or not above a hard surface!).  Some kids will never learn in spite of this, but we really cannot continue to protect for ever more all those who refuse to do this.
But Judith from what I can see the branches that were removed were too high for kids to reach anyway, so it's doubtful that they were removed for what you call 'PC' reasons.

LOL at this answer [:D] Fédération Locale des Imbéciles Casques
  14.
Just spotted this little fellah in our garden in 47. I don't recall seeing one quite so early in the year. This is the first time I've posted a photo so hope it works (I followed the instructions on the photography forum). It was taken through a window so might not be as clear as it should.
It's a lovely picture Pete, well worth posting. They're such shy birds. I've been trying to get out of the door quietly enough to get a photograph, and failing. I should just clean my windows.[:)]
  15.

God above, I thought kids were supposed to fall out of trees - I fell out of hundreds.
Me too, but not onto a pavement.[;-)] Those branches looked too high for anything but the most determined kiddie climber though. They'd need a step ladder to get up there! Judith it does look a bit drastic at the moment, but once the cuts take on the colour of the rest of the trees they'll look a lot better.
  16.
Please advise!!!!!!!!!
Check your posts for spelling and typos Jon. On this occasion it's a small mistake, which has completely changed the sense of part of your post, leading to much hilarity. I know you've said before that you aren't bothered about spelling/typos in your posts, but this is a good example of why it's worth checking before posting.[:D]
  17.
Normally only about 15 items
There you go, that's the same as me.  It's uncanny. [:)]
  18.
OMG - 30 !!![:P] I've just got down to 1100 !!! Then there are those I have 'filed'.....[8-)][8-)]
LOL![:-))] Bin them, Gay!
  19.
Just out of interest - how long do you keep your emails before you delete them?
I'm ruthless. I delete all regularly, apart from a monumental, still unresolved e-mail row with one sister, which leaves me with 15 every time.
  20.

Your post total is altered as you post, so now you are on 311, if you reply you will be on 312 etc, this number alters on all your posts, past ones included.......so if you go back to an earlier post now you see your current post total. Clear as mud ? [:)]
Well, thank you - I think. I can see that I've gone up to 311, but I'm still not sure how this works.
Each time you post, the number of posts mentioned under your name (on each and every post) goes up by 1, because you've made 1 more post.   You'll be asking about the coloured balls next.[:D]
  21.
http://text-to-speech-translator.paralink.com/# Hey my computer will whisper sweet nothings now just look!!
I've just had fun typing in French but keeping the spoken language English. It's really funny! Thank you Georgina.[:D]
  22.

You have been ignored by three witches btw!
They wont be up until after sunset.
I only counted two. Unless Dick is a Witch now?[;-)]
  23.
Yes, of course we have proms in Wales.
We never had them in England, and I didn't know you had them in Wales either. [:)]  Do schools in England have them now too?
  24.
Hi, a simple question and hopefully a simple answer! Do they have school proms in France for either English Schools or French Schools or both?
Bordeaux International School has an end of year dance/party, but it's nothing like an American Prom for graduating students.
  25.
Sorry, ah yes Proms.  I hope there is such a thing.  My daughter has been planning hers since she is three.  Dont tell me we are moving to France for her terminale and no Proms [:(]
Do you have Proms in Wales?[8-)]
