  5. Exactly,it's how people get "conned" out of thousands;the people doing it are the "pleasantest" people you ever meet.
  6. Our local ASDA in the Uk has 28" TV's for sale for £100(and other sizes and types) but I notice that they are all PAL/SECAM and some are NTSC(US-stands for never twice the same colour!!)
  7. Gluestick,When I finally got thro' to all the sites you mention,I found that they all agree with me-the first page of the Worcester/Bosch makes it very clear.
  8. I see some of the firms(Fox and co,for example agree with me).A combi boiler has not hot water tank in the circuit;it effectively becomes a multipoint water heater when some one turns on a tap.A condensing boiler may or not have a hot water storage tank;it refers to a type of boiler where the hot exhaust fumes are used to preheat the cold water entering the boiler to improve the efficiency.
  9. Condensing and combi boilers are two totally different types of boiler.
  10. "IDEAL" boilers became a generic name like BIRO and HOOVER;lots of people said they had an Ideal boiler even if it was made by someone else.
  11. Montpellier hospitals should be excellent;it is,after all,one of the oldest medical schools in Europe.Having spent time in the hospital in Sete,I can only report that it was much better than UK equivalents.

  14. If there is a charity involved with your husband's medical condition, contact them about insurance. The charity involved with my condition has a list of recommended insurers.
  15. Usually details of timers/controllers and wiring for thermostats are given in the instruction manuals supplied with the boiler. Most boilers come with two manuals;1.an installer's manual, which you may or may not be given and 2. an user's manual,a much smaller book which tells you how to operate the boiler. The installer's manual will usually have wiring diagrams for all types of control system. You can usually download these manuals from the manufacturer's website if not given the paper ones.
  16. Most of the French towns I go to (tho' not NW France)only charge for parking directly in the town centre;in fact one of our local towns actually has signs up telling you that this is the last "free" car-park.Also near the coast many of the car-parks that charge in high-season are free in the off-season.
  17. Will there be a railway station? The railway runs along the southern side of the airport.
  18. For a kettle to boil reasonably quickly you need about1,000/1200 watts.(hi-speed mains kettles are 3000 watts);on a 12v system this would need 100 amps which would burn out any wiring on the car other than the starter circuit. You will not find a fast boiling 12v. kettle.A Camping Gaz single burner and kettle would work.
  19. You're talking cold Atlantic;I'm talking warm Med..
  20. Supermarkets only have special offers or Faires when then are stuck with something they can't get rid of otherwise.
  21. My Ford battery is still starting my diesel 7 years after purchase despite only being used every couple of weeks.
  22. As said in the previous post, many French buy and eat "coquillage" all thro' the summer months but my house, shops and restaurants where I eat are all within sight of the Med.
  23. The growing/spawning cycles are not so affected by seasonal variations.
