1. One thing that made my jaw drop was the interlocking plaster blocks to make up the walls. I thought that they were phenomenal. I have never seen anything like before except in a child's house building set. Did I hear correctly that they are only available in France?
2. Good morning Chris Yes I did see it last night. £250,000 to purchase the property then £500,000 to have the work done!!! I thought that the carpenters name was rather appropriate - . I would not have hired him with a name like that. Then the bespoke Miele kitchen, bespoke bedrooms, furniture etc. Is it me or did those people have more money than sense?

4. According to their website, there are 17973 computers in the UK already participating in this. That being so I think that I will give it a miss and nort make mine 17974. Got problems with Sun based software Nick?
5.
I don't really care. I've bin immatrickulated so now I can 'ave me new plates made and phitted. Then I can drive like the French? John
Why wait for the plates?
6. Good morning Despite its tiltle have a look at this site http://www.satelliteforcaravans.co.uk/ and this one http://www.satcure.com The info there should be able to assist you in getting set up correctly.
7. Linnorton   Received your PM this morning regarding the lost email, so I have sent you the info via the PM system instead.
8. I appreciate that the translation may leave something to be desired, however it is fairly readable. Have a look here re Procalit F http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.atoca.com/produits/cache/weber-broutin/procalit-F.html&prev=/search%3Fq%3DProcalit%2BF%2B%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DG
9. Good afternoon Kathy I am making the assumption that your French TV is a new one. If so then your DVD and VCR should work just fine connected to the TV via Scart leads.
10. Since seeing this topic I undertook some research on the Internet. The main problem with purchasing property in Bulgaria is this. Foreigners i.e the likes of you and I, can purchase the building BUT we are NOT allowed to purchase the land that goes with it (and I am presuming the footprint upon which the building stands). In order to get around the problem, any foreigner wishing to buy a property has to set up a company in Bulgaria and then purchase the land through the company name. On the estate agent's site that I looked at, they offered the services of their company to purchase the land. My immediate thought was that the estate agency would then actually own the land in name and I for one, would not be very happy with that idea. Yes property is cheap in Bulgaria, but there again there are always pitfalls when wishing to relocate outside the UK.
11. Quote:"I would rather see Colin Powell in the Whitehouse than George Bush" Wasn't Colin Powell implicated in some scandal in the USA some years ago?
12. Good morning Val In the UK it is EITHER a freefone number OR a 0845 number and these are automatically diverted to wherever in the world the call centre is located at no extra cost to the caller.
13. Tony Before you go ahead and order your woodburner, can I bring this matter from elsewhere to your attention? http://brittany.angloinfo.com/forum/topic.asp?whichpage=1&topic_ID=958&forum_ID=7&cat_ID=2&topic_Title=installing+wood+burning+stoves It may or may not affect your final decision.
14. Chouan I have three books here about living, working and buying a home in France. NONE of them mention any form of tax relief in respect of mortgage payments. Hopefully someone who knows the tax system far better than I will be able to definitively answer your question. I'm sorry that I cannot be of more help to you. Regards
15. Unfortunately Robert I cannot see your picture. I do not know if this is due to the security settings on my machine or if the problem lies elsewhere.
16. Catwoman Did our friend from the other site make contact today and if so what was the outcome?
17. Taxe d'habitation is NOT based on income. It is based on the rental value of the property (valeur locative). It is payable by any person who resides in a property with a rental value that exceeds €4600 (2003-4 figures) in France on 1st January, whether that person is the owner, tenant or rent free occupier. It is roughly - and I stress the word roughly - similar to the rates system that we had in the Uk prior to the Council Tax implementation.
18. I have the fourth edition of that publication. There is no mention whatsoever in this updated version regarding abolition of the tax, so presumably the government had a change of mind?
19. Catwoman Through another forum, I suggested that a lady who was looking for a cat should look at your posts. You have already sent her a private email and the lady concerned has stated within that forum that she would contact you. Hopefully she will have done so.
20. Congratulations to you both. It only goes to show that one does NOT have to pay sky high prices in order to get from one piece of land to another, especially when that piece of land is separated by a strectch of water. If Norfolkline can supply crossings at that sort of price, then why on earth can't the rest?
21. Leslauriers Thanks very much for telling us about the documentary beforehand - I was not aware of it. Needless to say I have also setup my digibox onto auto for the documentary and the film. Thanks again.
22. According to two free translation services, "tartine" means slice of bread. Make of that what you will!!
23. Judging by what I have read elsewhere this morning, hopefully the ball has already started rolling so that one of the kittens will be going to a good home.
