Wasn't he fab ???

You know Steve, it reminds me of my beloved grand dad with whom I sat in front of the TV, he said " come here, let's watch " Charlot " as he called him...."  And we laughed, and we were both happy..

Those were the days ..

I hope my son will have lovely memories like that with me..

To you my darling  G " Just the two of us"        [kiss]

Don't go yet Frenchie !  Have you had Daniel Lavoie yet (I'm not looking through all the pages to see!  [:D] ).  He was on the television late one night last week and he explained how he came to write this song "Ils s'aiment".  It was in 1983, he was at home songwriting and took a break for some lunch, turned on the news on the tele and saw pictures of Beirut and in all the ruins and horror a young couple were walking hand in hand, which inspired the song, une très belle chanson.

Great stuff, well followed;

I couldn't resist this ripost for the brilliant nickelback, Just so everyone knows, this song is NOT making fun of Nickelback, this is just supposed to be a fun song, but I think it just shades the original, Laff or wot!

Good one, John.  Great fun to watch and listen.  Clever lyrics and photos.

Oh John, I'm not surprised with what you have been through.  Your emotions must be ragg-ed raw.

Thanks for sharing JamesatWar - one person to look out for.  As for Barry Manilow, I have never really appreciated his music because of the "slush" that goes with it.  But seeing the video you chose, I didn't realise how good his piano playing was or how well he could control his voice.  I shall listen to him again in a different light.

The other instrumental that moved me was by Elton John:

It starts with the bells tolling - very morose - but seems to end with a kind of triumph over death.  I stop it when E J starts to sing.

John, perhaps people can't talk about death because it hasn't touched them?  Not sure but just an idea.
