Teamedup
I was in Geneva yesterday and lo and behold there was an M&S. It wasn't there the last time I was there, so are they opening M&S stores in europe again, will be getting some in France again.
YCCMB
TU, they're franchises rather than M&S-owned stores. There are these franchises all over the place around the world, but I would guess that unless someone wants to start one in France, it won't bring M&S back there. Coco
I heard somewhere that they are thinking about moving back into Europe.
Valleyboy
Stuart Rose has said that he wants to open wholly-owned stores in Europe in the future, not franchises.

Russethouse
Only if you believe Robert Kilroy Silk - M&S have denied it !Shame [:(]
Pierre ZFP
There's also a whole load of shops called 'M&S Mode' with the same style font and colour to the shops. Fooled me for a bit until I realised that it was nothing to do with the good old Marks and Sparks (why isn't it Marks and Spark then ? no 's')
Steph1
Where exactly is the store in Geneva, is it in the centre?
Teamedup
It is on the Rue du Rhone, on the opposite side of the street from Globus and just a bit further along, heading towards the main fountain, well sort of.
Loiseau
Must go to Marks and Spencer, apparently their mirrors are slimming!
Don't know about M&S, but the mirrors in H&M in Calais (in the 4B shopping mall) definitely are!I was perusing the racks, and saw a rather svelte looking couple reflected in the mirror - but when I swivelled my gaze and saw them for real, they were definitely pudgier!Glad I noticed that before I tried anything on, or I might have been fooled... Teamedup
And I thought that it was just the lighting in these places that made me look so bad. I didn't know that they had a range of special 'sizing' mirrors.

Like the way supermarkets smell of baking bread or fruit - that's why you go through the fruit to get to everything else.
Teamedup
For all bread is baked in two of my closest french supermarkets, that is not what they smell of. Intermarche have a genius for having a slightly bleachy smell as you walk in, that seems to be disguising a fishy smell. [:)]And if they didn't sell the best beef around here,as they do, then I don't think I would go in as often as I do. Even Super U, has a funny smell, not the same, maybe strong cheese and garlic. Russethouse
Yes, but it was designed by a man, how do I know what veg I need before I have looked at the meat ? Why are chilled things that you want to get home and in the fridge before the tins and dried goods in our local supermarket ? Why do they sell burgers in two's and buns in fours.........[:-))]
