Christine Animal
I love Autumn. While some are playing word cames maybe others have some nice Autumn photos taken in their little part of France. Here's a view from our place taken the other day. Cassis
I like it when it's not damp, windy and overcast!
Chris Head
That looks lovely CA. The colours here are stunning too, but perhaps a week or so past their best. One has the feel that the natural world is busily preparing itself for those long dark weeks that lay ahead. I suspecy many of us are metally doing the same. Wonder who'll get cabin fever first? Christine Animal
I hate Winter though. That's a great photo Cassis, you have incredible forests where you are. I had a look on your site once and all the names made me feel sort of "homesick" as we knew a lot of them when we were in the Perche. Is that the Foret de Perseigne on your photo? Cassis
Yes, that's the Perseigne. It's across a field from us. Has your forest/woodland in your pic got a name? And does that slope mean you've got a river nearby?
Christine Animal
How fantastic to live there. Before coming down here we looked in the Orne, it's so beautiful there. We went to look at a place near Carrouges and a couple near Gacé, but didn"t find anything suitable. No there is no name to the "woodland", it's more small woods with fields in between, but from a distance it looks like it's all one. There is no river at the bottom of the slope, just a tiny stream.
Meg
I love the really low light (apart from when i'm gardening and then it is annoying) it gives a whole differnt feeling to places.
Cassis
Yes, I think the light has a lot to do with it - lower angles, less intense, etc. gives everything a warmer, mellower feel even before you throw in those lovely colours. This one's a bit of a cliché (arf, arf) but I still like it. From the kitchen window. That said, it's been chucking it down here today!I'm not averse to winter - clear and crisp or a covering of snow I like, provided there's a nice fire at home! Russethouse
The view from a friends kitchen, about a month ago - boy I could learn to love washing up if this was the view from the kitchen sink!
Dave
From our wood, we don't have a garden.

Dick Smith
Some lovely images, and a great pleasure.Do you think we should have a photography section?
Meg
I reckon a photography section would be really good!
Christine Animal
SO DO I ! And I don't usually shout. [:P]
Dick Smith
Related to France, photos by forum members - I reckon Archant would go for that.Must have a clear statement that photographs submitted retain copyright with the photographer though. Russethouse
Perhaps it could be a sub section in Sports, Leisure and Pastimes ?
Chris Head
A photography section is just a great idea! I agree with Dick that the 'photos shouldn't be used without the consent of the owner. I might just get myself an amplifier out of this! Who's going to ask James?
Russethouse
I'll leave a note in the mods section -
opas
I shall have to go and write my letter to Santa..........I would love a digital camera , so I could post some pictures too!I have just been outside and noticed that my spring bulbs are pushing up. Russethouse
A new digital camera is on my list too - I tried a friends Casio at the weekend and liked its huge preview screen, its very slim too. My present Fuji is fine but bulky and the lense cover no longer retracts manually.
Christine Animal
So would I Opas, I shall have to get mine mended. I am using a little one free with a magazine so the quality is not very good! Here are a couple more taken from the house this morning. and looking the other way
Christine Animal
Opas, if you have a scanner you can scan normal photos. Then when they are on your computer you can put them on here.
Russethouse
If you scan them, I personally think its easier to choose the jpeg option to save them.
Cassis
I wish you hadn't mentioned scanning photos. You remind me that I have been meaning for the past year to go through all of our old stuff and scan it in!Anyway, off to work down the barn - I promised I would make some stuff for the village school's Marché de Noël. WJT
Absolutely stunning photos and views! I do hope more will post. The sun came out a moment ago so thought I would also take a photo. The colours have definitely passed their peak around here so not the best but still lovely and golden. Unfortunately, the sun lasted about 15 minutes because now it is bucketing with rain again.[:(]
