tenniswitch
Granted that we're in the boonies, but I've been a bit surprised to find absolutely no vendors of sherry in our part of France (much less my fav, the Emilio Lustau Papirusa Manzanilla).Anyone more or less near 43 able to buy sherry? NormanH
You can buy online at:http://www.vinogusto.com/frJust enter the name of the wine in the box at the top rightyou gethttp://www.vinogusto.com/fr/vino/20681/emilio-lustau-jerez-xeres-sherry-lustau-solera-reserva-manzanilla-papirusaIn your départment La Cave de la Chèvrerie adverises on its site that it sells sherry, but not necessarily the one you are looking for. Gardian
We too have tried in vain - strangely. you'll see Malaga & Marsala, but never a sniff of Sherry in any of the hypers.Nicolas however do stock it around here, though when we passed by our local branch the other day, it had closed! Dog
I bought some sherry for my doctor this christmas - sorry winter festival - after eeid - sorry my mistake after divali.Well anyway I bought it from Auchan - and he liked it but still will not stop smoking.Quite hilarious in his waiting room last week there was a discussion amongst those waiting to see him they were checking everyones appointment times. It seemed at the end that each 15 minute appointment was double booked.
splishsplash
Leclerc sells sherry in large bottles & small ones. Look for Madere next to the port.(i must have it in my trifle!)

plod
I've never come across a French person who drinks it, hence the only option is delivery, or go to Spain. We're about two and a half hours away. Unfortunately, even here - Bossost, Les or Viella (Val d'Aran) they only seem to sell sweet or dry, no amontillado. NormanH
As a French equivalent I would recommend trying Mauryor Banyuls and here
splishsplash
You are right of course, but I don't mind what goes into my trifle! The Caves perhaps would sell sherry, ask for Xeres. It is available from France online too.
tenniswitch
Thanks for the links. I'm apparently having an attack of stupidity, because I can't seem to find any link on the vinogusto.com website that actually allows you to buy the wine. NormanH
I think you have to sign up to place an orderIf you click on 'ajouer à ma wishlist' it takes you to a page where you sign in or sign up.From that point you can place an order.
