1. It is still for sale on orange.fr, try this link Wifi extender 85Mbits Click on equipments livebox, then it is the fourth item down.
2.
I posted the three forms (links below) to the nearest MDPH (formerly COTOREP), with the photocopies (& 2 photos) listed on the last page of the demande_carte form. To be completed by the claimant http://www.travail-solidarite.gouv.fr/IMG/pdf/identification-2.pdf http://www.travail-solidarite.gouv.fr/IMG/pdf/demande_carte.pdf To be completed by the medicin traitant: http://www.cnsa.fr/IMG/pdf/certificat_adulte.pdf The guidance notes HERE say that the processing time is four months  ...I'll let you know.
An update, or rather, the conclusion. About 10 weeks after submission, my partner received an appointment with an MDPH doctor.  Surprisingly, no medical checks were done; all the information needed was on the medecin traitant form.  The doctor transferred this information to another form in the dossier. During the interview financial assistance for equipment was offered and there were a few questions about how my partner and I cope day-to-day (I'm a carer, I've never been asked before! [:-))])  This made us feel that further assistance would be there, if needed in the future.  At the conclusion of the interview we were told the date that a panel would meet to make a decision and the approximate date that a 'decision letter' would be in the post. The carte d'invalidite was received when expected, but no mention of the blue badge, so I called the person named on the accompanying letter (person in charge of Mr A's dossier) who retrieved the dossier very rapidly and apologised for the error, saying that the blue badge would be in the post later that day. It was. Overall I am impressed with the efficiency of the process even though the forms and justications took a whole afternoon to complete and collate... thank goodness for the photocopy function on the home printer! Finally: Thanks to the forum members who kindly pointed me in the right direction to start the process.
3. Benjamin,
May I wish you success in your endeavour; (...) many people on this forum will be cheering you on, as will I.
I'll second that. Here's hoping that you blaze a trail for the rest of us.  This issue is 15 years away for my partner, so I very much hope that you'll have set a precedent by then! Bon courage.
4. David - The forms you need to be assessed for the carte d'invalidite are available on line. However if you already have a dossier (already have a carte d'invalidite) it might be worth calling the MDPH first? I don't know; only just received the first one! I went through the process, for the first time, recently and it was pretty straight-forward. I filled in the forms (links below), which involved a trip to the doctor. I sent the forms to the local MDPH, as Benjamin says (found the address on Angloinfo).  Following that, there was an appointment for an interview with an MDPH doctor, during which no medical checks were done; the lady said that she had all the information she needed on the medecin traitant form. The interview was worthwhile, as financial assistance with equipment was offered and there were a few questions about how my partner & I cope day-to-day (I'm a carer) which made me feel that assistance would be there, if needed. To be completed by the claimant: http://www.travail-solidarite.gouv.fr/IMG/pdf/identification-2.pdf http://www.travail-solidarite.gouv.fr/IMG/pdf/demande_carte.pdf To be completed by the medicin traitant: http://www.cnsa.fr/IMG/pdf/certificat_adulte.pdf The guidance notes HERE say that the processing time is four months. This was the case for my partner. One further tip about printing these forms. My printer produced gobbledygook until I set it to 'print image' in the printer settings. Hope this helps. Good luck, it was straight-forward yes, but long-winded also! I think I spent a whole afternoon photocopying justifications to go out with the forms. These things were ever thus. [:)]
5. Hi Benjamin, Glad the article was of interest, although, as you say, it is rather vague.  I agree with the point in your first post, that CPAM can only process the retirement E121 in one way, if there is no additional information... although they must have a dossier showing the previous 100% attestation.  Also, if already assessed for a carte d'invalidite, then medical information is on record in France too. Maybe not in the right office, though?!  If the article (link in first post) is accurate, new guidance has been issued to CPAM offices instructing them to assess each case individually. Although, I wouldn't expect CPAM to be proactive; they have no reason to re-examine a dossier unless requested to do so. CLEISS reportedly made the ruling and issued guidance to CPAM offices, so perhaps it is worth speaking to them and/or the English speaking CPAM helpline. CLEISS - (France's helpdesk for international mobility and social security): Tel: 01 45 26 33 41 www.cleiss.fr CPAM - The French Health Service (English language service): 08 20 90 42 12 Good luck with the investigation.
6. I recall reading that a few forum members lost invalidity level reimbursements from CPAM on reaching UK state retirement age. There's an article on the Connexion website HERE suggesting that it might be possible to maintain reimbursements at the invalidity level, even after state retirement age. Hope it is of interest.
7.
Something home made is not the sign of a cheapskate but of someone who cares.  After all, time is a precious commodity.
I couldn't agree more.  Macarons prettily wrapped sounds like a perfect gift. When I've had shop-bought macarons they are fruit flavoured and different colours, sandwiched together in pairs with (probably) fruit puree. Miam, miam. Thx for the recipe, and the humour. [:)]
8.
...does anybody have a company they can highly recomend to not only create the website, but also, who can monitor it?   ...please PM me with the details.
Have sent you a PM
9. Didier Lagleyze is from Libaros and runs a landscaping & gardening business. I haven't used him so I'm not sure about the design aspect, but he does all the landscaping in the village. Incidentally, he's the husband of the Secretaire de la Mairie. This is his mobile number (he doesn't speak English). 06 72 04 90 92 Good luck with your project(s!)
10. Good one, John!  This press release is from the Ryanair website:       12.03.09 Passengers to Suggest Next Discretionary Charge €1,000 CASH PRIZE FOR BEST SUGGESTION   Submit your ideas by email to [email protected]
11.
Well that's odd.    My left mouse button (as you say) selects and directs to the URL,  the right button does absolutely zilch! I'm beginning to think I've got an odd version of Firefox!! Will try Clair's latest now....
On trying this again... I realise that I don't need to press a mouse button at all: just hover over the unwanted address and it is highlighted in blue, then press delete key on keyboard. NB I downloaded & installed a Mozilla update this morning, perhaps that makes a difference.
12. Martin, you can delete them. Perhaps I didn't explain it very well? When the unwanted URL appears in the drop down list of suggestions, select it, using the 'opposite' mouse button. (if you use the 'usual/main' mouse button it will open the page) Once selected, press the delete key. The URL is removed.
13. Val, here's an address I found by Googling... not sure whether it's what you're looking for. Take a peek at the adverts on Anglo info, there are other food suppliers that you might be interested to visit while you're in Montmorillon. ( a bacon butcher for example) Finegans Rainbow: Grocers at 3 rue St-Martial, Montmorillon (86) selling English foods including hand-made imported jams, marmalades and condiments. Also, books and greetings cards. Edit: sorry, the butcher is at Montmorillon market on Weds.  website HERE
14. You need to delete the undesirable addresses one by one when they appear in the drop down list. To do this: opposite mouse click to select (but not open) the address in the drop down list. Hit DEL Hope this helps for more info look up 'smart location bar' on the Mozilla site
15. Gotta watch the windspeed in the Falklands. It's Sudan where I have problems. 86.33% overall... so far.
16. Pierre, A tricky one! I think that John's advice is good. My partner is disabled and the "I'm making one for myself" technique is more than familiar. Dignity with disability is a hard balance to strike and, I suspect, different for each person. I would definitely mention it.  Just remember that you might not be the first to do so. You have the idea that you will have fun doing this with your friend.  What I mean to say is that you want him to join you rather than the other way around.  You want to share your love of skiing and think this could offer an opportunity to do so.  Would he be prepared to give it a go, for you?  Maybe even use this as an opportunity to explain your embarrassment/difficulty bringing it up (you'll be closer friends after that conversation!) Your friend may enjoy learning to ski in a new way, or it might simply remind him of his lack of independence... there may come a time when he's ready to try things that sit him squarely in the 'disabled' category but, right now, the whole idea might be anaethma to him. He's an individual, like everybody else. GL, he's fortunate to have such a caring and sensitive friend.
17. With the Intermarche loyalty card, I can only use/spend the accumulated cash at the store where the card was issued.
18. I'm impressed with the service from Amazon.co.uk. Last week I ordered QoS for £12.98. On Tuesday, I received an email to say that the price dropped before release and Amazon would refund £6.24. The DVD arrived on Thursday. "Pre-order Price Guarantee.                   Because we reduced the price of your pre-release title between dispatch (when we charged you) and the release date, you will automatically receive a refund for £6.24."
19. Hi Hakunamatata - yes, you can ask to use the accumulated Euros when paying, in the branch where you took out the loyalty card. There was a recent thread about how to ask for the funds:  http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/1595106/ShowPost.aspx
20. DerekJ, 112 (no prefix or country code) = international rescue (EU!) You can call this number from anywhere in Europe, to be put through to the local emergency switchboard.
21. Two days off the anniversary of Dunblane... At least 11 dead at a German school Albertville secondary school in Winnenden, north of Stuttgart 9 victims in Alabama Reports say they include a 1-year-old
22. Interesting, thanks.  I hadn't heard of the British version either. There's a NOZ not too far from me, I'll try it next time I'm over that way.  Here's the link for store locations NOZ.
23. Hi Pegleg, When I pay the doctor, he gives me a 'feuille de soins' (a brown form) I have to complete a couple of details on this form and send it to CPAM. Then I get a refund paid directly into my bank account. In my case, the refund is 70% of the consultation charge minus 1€ admin fee. Does this help?
24. The neighbour's reasoning implies that there is no assistance for low-income and/or infirm pensioners in France. Are the social services in France and the UK really all that different?
