  1. Hi all, I am looking for a French teacher in the Hesdin, Pas-de-Calais area. Have tried using cd based course, which is useful up to a point, but really need someone to help on a regular basis. As much as I can remember words, and work out some phrases, as soon as someone replies to my question or comment I'm lost! Thanks in advance, and I look forward to weeding out the jokes and finding some help
  2. Has anyone here heard of, or even better had dealings with electromust.com?
  3. Does anyone know any tree people in the hesdin area. I have a large tree in the garden ( where else?) that is in danger of falling. Thanks
  4. My wife has taken early retirement, and is living virtually full time in France. I am still working in the UK and split my time 50/50 between the two. Anyone know the difference between health care obtained via the EHIC, and that which would be obtained if I complete an S1 form ( or E106/E109 in old money). Thanks
  5. I'm sure this topic has been discussed many times on here, but I wanted to get some up to date info on these. can anyone advise the best way to arrange this? thanks
  6. Can anyone give me some info about the "t" pass for motorways?
  7. We have had a second home in France for just over two years now, and have just received a form 1236-TV asking about television license. Has anyone any info about this form? My limited ( but improving) French tell me that it says that I have to declare if I had a tv there on January 1st. So if I take a set with me, and bring it back to the Uk prior to 1st Jan, do I not have to pay for a license? Also, does this only relate to French TV, as we have a sky freesat box to recieve Uk programs. thanks all.
  8. Can anyone recommend an installer in the Hesdin, Pas de Calais region. I have a dish there already, but need it converted with a duel LNB and wiring so I can use a Sky+ box. Thanks
  9. Just checked and all ours are black as well- and we've been going over at least once a month for the past two years+. so i don;t think you've got anything to worry about
  10. Anither thought Cathy, do you know how it's calculated? Is there, for example, a "base price"for a house, then add-ons for number of bedrooms etc?
  11. Thanks for that - does the rental valuation thoery apply even if the property is not rented out?
  12. We have purchased  2 adjoining houses and knocked them through to form one house. Although many years ago it was probably a single house, we recieve 2 taxe d'habitation charges for the property, marked No.6 and No 6B. If we advise the powers that be of the change, will our total bill be reduced, increased or no difference? The actual floor area is the same, although the number of bedrooms has now increased from 3 to 5.
  13. Anyone any good ideas for places to buy ceramic floor tiles in France?
  14. Hi, We use a Sky Gnome, which plugs into the back of the Sky box and transmits the tv ( or radio) sound to a receiver. They aren't on sale from Sky any more, but I've bought a couple from Ebay and Amazon. It give you all the radio or tv stations on a wireless "radio" with quite a good range.   Richard
