I don't understand what this has to do with the tax office.

I don't see a figure for Lot et Garonne on the second website, just a regional figure for Aquitaine, which would include Bordeaux (city and wine producing areas) probably richer than Lot et Garonne.
Down or up on the piste, it served hot, nicely spiced. Winters coming
on the piste again eh? [:D]

In the summer here (which can get to 40+°) red wine is almost always served chilled. If you look on the label it often says should be served between 16 + 18 °.

You are quite right Cérise: our 'new' wines are really primeurs. And the Beaujolais Nouveau is hardly recognised, but then there are so many excellent Languedoc wines that we can afford to ignore inferior products ...[:P]

BBC Radio in S.E France
Jotty replied to Paul's topic in French Satellite TV, French Internet and Telephone
I listen on my computer with a cheap but acceptable speakers, including a separate bass unit. Cost about 50 euros and is as good as my aging HI-fi. The BBC site is here The i-player works for radio but not for TV (unless you wangle it with proxies etc) You need to install a player such as the Real Alternative codec with Media Player Classic included. -
I believe that there has also been an invasion of other parasites in the Midi: the plane trees along the Canal are under threat, as are other trees in the region.

It's possible to win a case and still lose out...I took a car dealer to court and won, officially with costs: but he kept the car (which I had returned as it was unfit to drive) and my cash, and I had to pay the avocat and huissier up front. When the huissier went to recover the money owing to me the dealer simply said he was now bankrupt and couldn't pay. So I paid for a car, and the costs of avocat, and huissier...and came away with nothing.

In the Hérault la fête du vin nouveau is on Thursday 16th October until the 18th. A month earlier than Beaujolais, and a wider selection of wines including (usually) some nice Sauvignon blanc etc... Last year was particularly celebrated as it was 100 years since the 1907 revolt but there are always lots of celebrations. This year Olargues will combine the Fête du marron with the fête du vin nouveau on the weekend of the 1st of November, and "une super castanyada y attend également les nombreux amateurs de châtaignes." so I suppose you can say that chestnuts often go with these wines.
The notaire checking the house insurance only applies if you have a mortage and is presumably an ongoing condition of any mortgage to protect the mortgagors interests. If you by for cash the notaire may tell you it is sensible to have insurance but there is no compulsion.
My first house was bought cash, and there was a panic on the day of signing to get the insurance sorted out because he refused to act without it. Perhaps things are no longer like that, but that was the case in the early 90s.

Ryanair, now I know why airports have codes
Jotty replied to Théière's topic in Travelling to/from France
This is the page I am talking about.. I had to fill it in to travel from France to the UK, although it says it is for going to Spain or the Canary Islands/Balearic Islands. I received an email asking for this information, and when I got to a page or so later it damanded Nationality. Perhaps this is not standard. It doesn't change my point however that the adjective which describes my Nationality is "British" and the noun for the place in which I was born would be "England" or the "United Kingdom." -
I may have had the letter because when I took out my mortgage with CA I got a few shares, so count as a shareholder. Perhaps orrdinary current account holders don't qualify. I hasten to add that my total investment is worth 17 euros...

I don't think it's a question of limits. I can draw up to 1500 a week with a gold card (if ever I had that much in the bank [:D]) In my CA (de Languedoc so the same region as the OP at Valras) the machines have been out of order 3 times this week, either not working or empty... The thought crossed my mind, that they are putting less cash in to conserve stocks. Of course it had the opposite effect ...

I don't think that there is a law of trespass in France -
Ryanair, now I know why airports have codes
Jotty replied to Théière's topic in Travelling to/from France

On the Ryanair security information you are forced to write United Kingdom...for Nationality! No way to put British... So I don't think the people creating the site are very literate...
Thats funny, the Ryanair site and all other airlines ask for COUNTRY or Pays in French not nationality when completing an on-line booking and you are not forced to write anything its a drop down box. So Kmc was actually correct it what he/she said.
This is not on the booking. It is in the information you have to fill in for security purposes when you are going to use the on-line check in. Nationality is asked for. -
I suggested a book by him in this thread

THE government is to invest £500bn of your money in British banks so they can lend it back to you with interest.... see: here
