1. I think it will be one to one in a couple of weeks time.
2.
Policemen are human and make mistakes, and I guess there have been lots of times that quite a few of us have cursed the police for not acting ( I wrote a long post about one such situation this afternoon, then lost it ) I'm sorry that Mr O was caught in this situation and if compensation is due, then he should get it, but on the whole I would rather that mistakes were made being over zealous, than not being zealous enough. (as long as firearms are not involved) I feel safer that way...
It's a good job firearms were not involved. GMP don't do firearms very well.
3. Virements are not new in France. I pay almost all our invoices by virement and all payments of salaries. This is all done on the web and if I want my bank generates a e-mail informing the recipient of the details. In fact we have to make our tva payments by this method, it's a requirement there is no other method available.
4. Guns never kill people. People kill people with guns.
5. You don't have to be a resident to say have a holiday home in France, or to have a French registered car. There seems to me a number of people on here take a quit unhealthy interest in other peoples affairs especially where cars are concerned. I suppose thats what being retired and at a loose end does for you.
6. Well there is really only one way to do that in a market economy and that is to work harder, grab every single opportunity, be very greedy and totally selfish.
7. Instead of looking at the negative aspects like turning the heating down and waiting for handouts that someone else who is a bit more enterprising is going to have to fork out for. Why dosn't everyone go out and make a bit more dosh then you can turn the heating up and be nice and warm.
8. There is no such thing as an obscene profit. Companies have a duty to their shareholders to deliver the highest possible return. I really don't know why people like the fisherfolk whine about it, they are getting the market price for their product they should learn how to run their business in a more productive manner.
9. The bottom line is Iran should be wacked back into the stoneage. That would send a pretty positive message to the rest of the jumped up wannabee dictators not to mess with the peackeepers.
10. I don’t know why she would want to play second fiddle to a no hoper like Barack Hussein Obama.
11. Hi I have just had a quote of €3900 for a V8 Range Rover which I think is a bit on the pricey side compared to £1850-£2250 in the uk. There are quite a few places in France to choose from, just google  gpl.
12. It's okay saying that they are bluffing, but I would put a bit of money on there being a good bit of knashing of teeth and pulling out of hair if they did pull out of Carca.
13. I think priority boarding is a really good idea it saves me having to push people out of my way. However it's too cheap, in my opinion you should have to pay at least 50€.
14. Wow this sounds grim. Have you got protection juradique on your motor or household insurance? They should be able to help. Or perhaps your breakdown insurance. Anyway I really hope you have good ending and Mr. Opas escapes the clutches of the vehicle gestapo.

a process

A bit of bad luck and I know how you feel. The bailiffs normally will just make a list of seizble goods. I don't know if it's a large sum but why don't you make an offer to pay monthly. Make sure you offer a sensible sum and send them a payment with the offer. They will no doubt accept the dosh even if they don't accept the offer. This will look ok to the judge who might or might not accept your offer but it will buy you time. Remember it's a ton of hassle to get someone out of a house in France. I have got a little bit of experience in dealing with this kind of thing so if you want any info pm me.   Don't let them beat you down. JMB
16. I am having this really seriously large coat made with a lot of very big pockets on the inside to carry shoes, clothes, books, laptop, dead ferret ect. I bet it won't be long before Ryanair start to weigh everyone and charge by weight.
17. Hi This is my first post so I don't know if I am in the right place. I have some cartons to bring over from Dublin to Carcassonne and wondered if anyone knew of a Dublin based company or individual who could help. Thanks JMB
