  1. I am nearing the end of a legal battle with a contractor involved in the construction of our house. Without needing to go into the details i came out of it second best and have been ordered to pay an outstanding amount, which i dont have and am struggling to raise. This has all moved on in to the hands of the Huissiers who i believe are tribunal bailiffs. If i dont have the amount of money by the given date they will put a process on our house, can anyone tell me what a process actually means? I think it means that they will force us to sell the house so that they get there money but i'm not sure. Thanks in anticipation.
  2. I receive this facture every year and under the heading it says,"Taxe departmentale pour les Espaces naturels sensibles". Can anyone tell me if this should be paid every year? as some of my neighbours do not get the same bill.  Also if i have some information regarding a very iffy company that build new houses, of which i have first hand experience, am i aloud to warn others via this site? Thankyou
  3. Thanks for your replies i have at least gained some confidence from them. I suppose there's a good and bad side to most gadgets, it's a case of how your luck runs, plus i'm not the most clued up on PC stuff.[:)]
  4. I wish i'd read about livebox first, but hey ho. I have just had my livebox delivered yesterday and am now loathe to install it, does anyone know if there is a cooling of period and could i send it back? Maybe i could say my PC has died and i cant afford another one.
  5. I could do the first Virgin Rock aka Northern Rock B/S Xmas party but would probably have an empty chav limo due to the lack of northern virgins allegedly
  6. I'm thinking of starting a limo hire business for weddings and private hire, not a taxi type business are the rules the same as for taxis i.e. first aid skills and so on? Has anyone on here had any experience thankyou?
  7. Sorry to bother all of you with this, i have looked on other posts for the answer but had no luck. Does anyone know the number for Francetelecom English department? Thanks.
  8. Thanks for the replies, what is PACS please?
  9. My partner and i have had our house here for just over a year, our intention was for me to work in the UK and for us both to flit between the UK and France. We have no property in the UK, however in this time i suffered an industrial injury which resulted in me being unable to work. I have had an operation for this injury 6 weeks ago on the good old NHS, it now seems unlikely that i will be able to return to my former occupation as this involved heavy engineering. I am getting to the question, we both want to stay in France my partner has applied for work on the ferries. At the moment i am still receiving a salary from my employer and they are waiting to see the outcome of my recovery. When my employer stops paying me i have got to find work, that i know and have got all my irons in the fire to find work in France. My question is can i get a carte de sejour while i am still employed in the UK? How does this affect my partner who at the moment has no work? Will the people in Newcastle have all the answers and how does this affect me still receiving treatment in the UK?  Sorry for the long winded story
  10. IMHO that is a great response thanks very much
  11. Thanks for the only reply Ian, sorry for my ignorance what does IMHO mean? Glad your happy with the Godin just got to convince better half its the way to go.
  12. Has anyone any experience of a Godin woodburner, slightly Dalek looking? We have a modern type house so it may not look right but i like the build quality and price. Another problem is the position of the chimney, it's in the corner of the room but should'nt pose to much of a problem for the design of fireplace and hearth. Any ideas?
  13. Hi i have just re-registered my Trooper in pas de Calais with the minimum of fuss, to realign the headlights is a bit fiddly but if i can do it anyone can. Look further into this thread and theres a reply from someone about taking the bulbs out and trimming the three lugs of and re fitting them in a slightly different position, this works a treat. A company in Germany were asking £500 for a set of Trooper lights so this prompted my decision to d.i.y. And i agree the Trooper is worth it, its not great but for the money it aint bad.         good luck
  14. HI to everyone i'm new to this forum so bear with me, i have a cherished 95 zzr 1100 back in UK i believe its about 144 bhp i obviously want to bring it over but am not sure about registering it here. I have been reading your posts and taken Kawasakis Europe address to request the Attestation d'identite. Can i do this in English? Or i can use the translater on this site yeh? These forums are superb for answering questions, but what a minefield still i suppose the language is the biggest barrier. Anyway i,ve just moved here with my lovely girlfriend of 8 years and if we still here next year we hope to get married in our garden. We chose to live in the Pas de Calais as i still work in the UK and we think we are in a lovely place. we,ve travelled quite a bit through France and hope one day to move further south.
