Just be aware that if your UK bank account is registered to your French address then you cannot top up an O2 mobile. I know because I tried and had no luck, Nationwide account. Not a problem if you have a UK account registered to a UK address

There is a new law that requires any UK registered vehicle to produce a full Certificate of Conformity as well as the log book to have a Controle Technique.. Is this the 'system' clamping down on all the illegal UK registered vehicles that are currently driving around in France, I hope so.

I would suggest Caisse d'Epargne, easy to deal with and very helpful. They also ensure that your money is in the best account interest wise.

Also a friend who also has a moto had to change the headlight on his UK bike as it was not 'E' marked. Go figure.

[/quote] Not really the case as when my French dealer who was doing the work didn't even check the beam pattern just made sure that the lights had an 'E' mark..

[/quote] Going through the process of registering my bike (pan) and because my lights are 'E' marked then they do not have to be changed according to the paperwork I have had signed by the dealer, only the power output needs changing. My beam is more flat than angled...

Amazon will ship to France, which is where I got my Foxsat from so you dont need a UK postcode for delivery. You only need a UK postcode when setting up the Humax, so you put the postcode of where you used to live, this then gives you the local ITV station from your UK area or you can use any postcode from England or Wales. The Humax will work with your existing Sky dish just a case of removing the cables from the back of the Sky box and transferring them to the Humax. You can use your current scart cable, but as the Humax comes with an HDMI lead I would use that, providing your TV has a compatible HDMI socket. Enjoy the footie. STeve

Have just spoken to Mr Smith about his trip to the Prefecture.  Seems he was very lucky because he has had problems registering his new bike with them. I asked if he had kept a copy of his COC but unfortunately he said that went with the bike when he sold it.[6] He also said that they have had a complete computer revamp since he registered his Pan.[:'(] Onwards and upwards......[:)][:)]

The saga continues. Having visited my local Honda dealer about the situation he advised me to write to Honda France asking them what I need to do about registering the Pan in France. So I wrote to them and said that I had now moved to France full time and I had brought my ST1300A with me from the UK and could you please let me know what I need to do to re-register the bike in France, I enclosed a copy of the V5 and sent it off. This morning I receive a letter from them stating. "Following your letter relating to the vehicle in question refers, we regret to inform you that this model has not been type-approved in France and not in compliance with French regulations, including the matter of power. That Honda motorcycle to a higher power to 100 horses allowed in France. Accordingly, we strongly advise you not to bring this car in France." As you can see not very helpful from Honda France. Do you think it would be better if I asked a Honda Dealer to reduce the power output of my bike and then get them to sign an attestation stating the fact and then try Honda again? I know this will cost me but not as much as purchasing another bike. STeve
