1. One of the problems with changing ISP to get improved charges or benefits is the loss of your email address.  You might want to consider an independent provider for email and or webhosting.  I use 1&1 who are excellent and operate happily through both my UK and French ISPs. Simon
2. I seem to recall my aged aunt used American Express last time she needed cover.  The Post Office is very good, and you can get a decent discount if you go for the anywhere in the world except the States option - more dangerous than Beirut presumably? Simon
3. It was quite a stir when my dear wife went for green rather than the standard brown in our village -   Simon
4. All reopened now.  As I understand it the tyres were not the issue, it was the runway that had not yet had grooves cut into it following resurfacing; apparently that is standard practice.  That work has been rushed through now, in torrential rain too. Regards Simon
5. For me scan to email is more effective than faxing, cheaper and better quality. Regards Simon
6. Here we are enjoying a light lunch with a few friends... Simon
7.  I have had and paid my Habitation, but not my Fonciere, anyone know when they get sent out in 24? regards Simon
8. Coming back from this fastinating discussion to the original question, have a listen to Paul Jones' show on radio 2, he plays all the greats plus more than a few who are new to me. For me John Lee Hooker will always be my favorite, but here's a link to Son House doing John the Revelator, it is a slow start but terrific. Regards Simon
9. Try the manufacturer's website to see if a firmware update is available, sometimes some DVDs have compatibillity issues. Simon
10. That's lots of Christmas shots, mainly vodka!
11. I dunno, you give 'em a few drinks...
12. Here is me doing what comes naturally in Belgium a couple of years back... Simon [B]
13. Yes a shame that, these things are much more reliable than the old floppies used to be, but they are not indestructable.  You might want to try this as a start, but if I were you stick to using them as backup or transport only. Regards Simon
14. As a general bit of good practice swapping your modem for a router usually provides a more reliable connection.  There are loads around, and they take the pain out of ADSL connectivity as no device drivers or ISP software is required.  The Wanadoo/Orange software is very intrusive, and for my money is best not installed at all.  You can get a router for around £30 these days, and you have the added advantage of a 4 port switch built in on most allowing you to connect more than one computer to the web. Regards Simon
15. Can I just buy a digital dish in brico and connect it to my Sky digibox? Simon
16. I seem to recall that despite it being the regional capital half-day closing is still a feature, can anyone tell me on which day it is? Simon
17. If you want value for money, and something to do for a few evenings you could try a kit.  Try these for a start, I would recommend a WDKEL84 which will push your Celestions OK. Regards Simon
18.
I've just found at the back of my cupboard, a Marks & Spencer xmas pud: best before 13th feb 2005 !! Do you think it's edible??
Yes, but make your own it will be so much nicer; make 2 and keep one for next year. Simon
19. Exact audio copy is what I use, and though I tend to rip to FLAC it does MP3 equally well and is pretty bullet proof, a free download, it can be obtained from here along with a get you started guide. Regards Simon
20. Don't call me Shirley... Yes that must be the case, it would be useful to know how much power these devices actually produce over a year or two so that a reasonable estimate can be known. Simon
