Here we go again this is one of "them subjects" every body knows the answer to . Some people say the insurance is illegal if the car is on british plates but with no tax and driving on french insurance but our french insurance man nice straight talking guy no wasting words told me its a load of rubbish and as long as we were in the process of re-plating my mothers car "which we did" the insurance was valid so I think it is another one of arguments that the "british forum police" on here like to make stories up about. because they have nothing better to do

I think they are chafer bugs they eat amongst other things potatoes I left some spuds in a little late and a few of them had these bugs living in the side munching away at the spuds

This is our first crimbo here . How many 10 euro should we be saving near the door for these guys and are they due right now or nearer christmas ?   cheers

Thanks pool guy HENDO We have not built a pool yet and we were not going to bother with all the regs but an above ground pool sounds like the answer it sounds too good to be true and I am suprised more firms are not designing huge above ground pools to get round these laws I suppose the logistics of having a huge weight of water are enormous but it is interesting I dont suppose you know if there is a size limit ?  thanks a lot

To me this sounds like they were being racist a passport is proof anywere in the world ,was it a one off by an over zealous moron or is it now policy to brand us brits as bad payers

We wondered if above ground pools are subject to these safety laws we are a private house not a gite etc

What wins it for me is that norfolk line as far as I know are the only company to make no distinction between a van and a mobile home this has always anoyed me in the past why should I pay more than a mobile home that is bigger than my van And they alow a van upto 7 metres in length for the same price so all vanners you have to book NORFOLK LINE

Japanese knotweed horrible stuff  the wifes daughter has a house next to the canal and I saw a piece of knotweed floating in it at the side, when I went back a month later the thing had tripled in size so i pulled it out and it was not even connected to the bottom of the canal so it had the ability to grow floating we had some at the back of our resturant  and it broke through concrete I kept putting commercial weed killers on it and never destroyed it in three years Its so bad I started respecting it

We have recieved our first tax fonciere and have yet to recieve the tax habitation can anyone tell me if the habit tax is more or less than the fonciere so I can budget accordingly   And is like a pole tax as there are three people living including my mum who is over 65   thanks a lot

A little tip if you need some headlights Search the german ebay http://www.ebay.de/ then use the german word for headlight Scheinwerfer and put your car in the search eg "ford escort Scheinwerfer" and you will find if you are lucky some good deals

Nice place the "Animal'Or" we went there to take both my mums little terriers to get clipped and the guy was so proud of his place he gave me a show round. he knew the dogs in his care by their names as he showed each one and his missus did a good job on the little dogs quite impressed apart from the ussual lack of walking the dogs
