  1. I can't find Moitirou either. But there is a place called Montiron, in the Gers area, ESE of Auch. Just a chance that "Moitirou" could have been a mistranscription from the original...
  2. This page might be useful. Person No 800 corresponds with the person you are researching, by the looks of things.
  3. Phew; eventually managed to work out which email address I had registered under, and reset a long-forgotten password! Good to see you, Idun, and those other familiar names.
  4. 7 for me, but then I am “croulant” now... Françoise Hardy, Charles Aznavour, Gilbert Bécaud, those were the days!
  5. Lori, I would check with your Mairie on what days hunting happens in your commune. It's bound to be Sundays, but the other day can vary.

    Antigen test

Well, you’ve got to book and pay for one before you leave France. It’s up to you whether you actually perform it, but I can’t see why you wouldn’t after you had spent all that money.

    Antigen test

QUOTE albf THERE IS NO WAY...I am sticking a swap up the nose and down the throat of one of my kids. ... END QUOTE albf, it looks as if children aged 11 and under are exempt from having to be tested, as long as they are travelling with fully vaccinated adults.

    Antigen test

Pip, not sure if that is a typo, but the booking of the Day 2 PCR test is done before you leave France to return to the U.K. You don't have to book it BEFORE you leave the U.K., only before your France-UK journey begins. Before you start the U.K.-bound journey, as well as getting that Antigen test done in France, you have to fill in the Passenger Locator Form with details of your crossing, and the reference number of your Day 2 PCR test, which you only book just before filling in that form and which should then arrive at your U.K. address a day after you do.

    Antigen test

This is what the priority letter boxes look like, for posting off your Day 2 test. Hope the link works... https://www.dropbox.com/s/ua1ygem5hob5ihc/postbox.jpg?dl=0 EDIT Hmm, don’t suppose that will work for anybody who doesn’t have a Dropbox account ?

    Antigen test

You don’t need a test now for going BACK to France, pip. But you have to fill in an Attestation saying that you have not been near anyone with Covid.

    Antigen test

QUOTE albf are these home tests safe to do on Children ? END QUOTE The tests - whether professionally- or self-administered - are swabs of throat and nose, taken with a long "wand". Obviously not pleasant, but not unsafe. However, here in London, my daughter was advised when testing her toddler (after she and her husband had tested positive) that it was enough just to do his nose swab. (I can imagine it would be incredibly difficult to swab the back of throat of a screaming child.)
  12. David, Can you register on the NHS app using your NHS number? I am presuming that you once lived in the U.K., so must have had one. If you don’t remember it, you might be able to find it here. https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/online-services/find-nhs-number/ EDIT Just found some extra info which might progress your quest: How to access the NHS COVID Pass: ————————- You need to be registered with a GP in England to use the NHS App. If you’re not registered with a GP, you can still access the NHS COVID Pass via the NHS website (NHS.UK) or via 119 (select the ‘NHS COVID Pass service’) to request a letter. —————-
  13. QUOTE cajal Just out of interest, why would you need or want one as a French citizen? END QUOTE Isn't anyone going to need one to enter places like a restaurant?
  14. .....and - before even leaving France - book (and pay for), a package of two PCR tests per person, to be taken on days 2 and 8 of your compulsory 10-day quarantine in the U.K. And then organise a further antigen or PCR test per person before you head back to France. Better start saving, cos that’s expensive for a family. Why not spend your hols in th3 Dordogne, cos you’re always saying it’s just like being in England! ?
  15. QUOTE AMH: ....so I have been planning on taking a Van over from the UK on the Eurotunnel to Paris ... END QUOTE Eurotunnel will take your van from Folkestone to Calais, not Paris.
  16. Thanks from me, too! Never seen that context. On ne mourira pas bête, as I believe they say in French Canada.
  17. I watched a bit on Sunday, and was appalled by the amateurish presentation. I suppose discussions have to be done on Zoom these days, but that awkward two-shot with Alastair Stewart and the other man (whose name I don’t know) was embarrassing beyond belief.
  18. So glad to hear your news, Lori, and that you like the new place so much. What area is Ste C les V in ( excuse my ignorance!)?
  19. It certainly does! And they would need to pay for a PCR test before setting out from UK for France too, so that's three paid-for PCR tests per person for a return trip. :-((
  20. Here is the government webpage, Norman https://www.gov.uk/guidance/red-amber-and-green-list-rules-for-entering-england Spool about a quarter of the way down for the rules you want. In essence: A PCR test in France before you leave (free I think); Complete a passenger locator form; Isolate 10 days on return to the U.K., with COMPULSORY PCR tests on days 2 and 8, at around £100 a throw if you shop around.
  21. "Fond de teint" ? Well, I think that used to mean make-up base, but it might do, mint.
