1. A long time ago, someone I knew had these panels in a living room in a large Victorian house. Because of the high ceilings they wanted a lower, more modern feel. To add insult to injury, they had some tiles which were semi-transparent, behind which were placed coloured lights. It looked awful. In my opinion, the ONLY place they are suitable for are workplaces :-) Why do you need access to the ceiling void ? Wiring and pipework are notnormally accessable along all their routes are they? If you really want to do it, search for 'plafond suspendu' in the search engine of your choice. Armstrong seems to come up a lot, but judging by the website it's not going to be cheap.
 2.
I always use form R43 for non-residents - here
Just found that on the R40 notes - thanks anyway :-)
 3.
if you used the setup CD (bad move)
Why is it bad?
 4. Is it in this list? http://cain.ulst.ac.uk/othelem/media/heathwood/
 5.
Use form R40 http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/incometax/tax-free-interest.htm#3 EDIT : Note that the option to stop your bank from deducting interest at source is usually not available to those who live abroad so you will probably have to do this every year.
Thanks :-)
 6.
reclaim the tax from Britain.
For those of us who haven't been here very long, how is that done?  HMRC is not very helpful :-(
 7. I don't know of any, but try "DECHETS FERS, METAUX (COLLECTE, RECYCLAGE, VALORISATION)" & "Lot et Garonne" in http://www.pagesjaunes.fr There are 23 responses, one of them may take your panels?
 8. The common way I've seen this done here, is to build a concrete block (parpaing) core and then face the finished wall in chaux / stone. Cheaper is to use concrete / stone, but its grey, so looks awful when done. There is a large house complex near here with a 200m 2.5 m high wall built in this way. A true stone and chaux wall  (both sides and infilled) as per traditional building methods will cost an arm & a leg by a builder and the skill level for this is rather high for DIY, especially at the height you are suggesting. I'm planning to do this myself (block and facing) round my own garden when I get one of those round tuit things :-)

 10.
not at lunchtime - they have a selection of formules starting at 10,90 euros.....& a lovely setting.
Not any more :-(  I seem to remember the reduction was done last summer to try and boost trade. The cheapest menu is now 13.90€ (not too much of an increase though) and the next 26€. (Just went and checked as I only live 5mins away) I agree the parc is very nice though.........:-)
 11.
the excellent L'Auryvan near St Junien http://www.lauryvan.fr/
Take your life savings with you :-)
 12. Auberge "La Marchadaine" at Montrollet In the centre of the village with views over the plan d'eau, outside terrace, good food from 12€. Between Confolens (17km) and Oradour (14km)
 13.
re the photos supplied by sid , i am assuming the 1st pic is the sheets bolted in place prioer to putting on the canal tile for effect ?
looks like it's done to me :-) although it does look a lot like desert camouflage in the first pic - I wonder if you can see it from above?
 14.
I have seen best before dates on bottled water in the UK which is ridiculous given that the label explains how it has been filtered through rock for thousands of years.
I seem to remember that has something to do with elements of the plastic bottle leaching into the water after time. Does water in a glass bottle have a best before date?
 15. A couple of suggestions here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magicicada and loads of info here    http://www.magicicada.org/magicicada_xix.php including "Periodical cicadas achieve astounding population densities, as high as 1.5 million per acre" "Magicicada population densities are so high that predators apparently eat their fill without significantly reducing the population (a phenomenon called "predator satiation"), and the predator populations cannot build up in response because the cicadas are available as food above ground only once every 13 or 17 years."
 16. According to various internet sources, Salami can be kept at room temperature for 10 years!! (as long as you don't cut it of course) Never seen a code on salt - are you sure its not some other sort of code? Did see a code on mineral water in the UK though - just checked a bottle of fizzy eau de source in the fridge and there is none :-)
 17.

As the owner of a traditional roofed building, When we refurbished the roof, the roofer replaced all the under tiles with a new version which lock to each other - hence no more movement and no more leaks.
But you have lost all the cachet of the old tiles........shame.
Err No.......... Only the underside is all new :-)
 18. As the owner of a traditional roofed building, I too was concerned about canal tiles and the, what seemed like constant, requirement to climb on to the roof and 'adjust ' a few of those under tiles which had moved and caused a drip or more. When we refurbished the roof, the roofer replaced all the under tiles with a new version which lock to each other - hence no more movement and no more leaks. It's been done for over a year now and (touch wood) has had no problems at all. Just have to save up and do the barn now :-)
 19.
I think that I will do the floors first DYI style.
If you do, you will be doing them again and again. Start at the top and work down (ceilings, walls, floors)
 20. Found in Gamm Vert - toile agrosol   2.1m wide, just over 2€ per m
 21.
I give up
For some reason it does not work for everyone - different browser, pc etc isn't technology wonderful? :-) :-) (see, i can't do smilies........)
 22. the code for the image needs to look like this [image]http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2080/5707917086_baafd4ae77.jpg[/image] BUT, replace the word 'image' with 'img' in both sets of brackets. If I did it properly, you would not be able to see the code :-)
