Barbel Bob
Hi,Not sure if this has been discussed previously but I searched and could not find anything!Nintendo DS do a game called 'My French Coach' i bought it today and have spent all day on it! It is brilliant, in just a day i have increased my vocabulary. I wish i had knew about it earlier as i would of bought it for my children before coming to France and that would of progressed them much more along with the French lessons they had. They also have the advanced game which i am keen to progress to.........if you dont own a DS then its worth buying one just for this, it allows upto 3 members of the family to have their own game. Great for kids and adults simple to use.Julie

Barbel Bob
Judie,I think so...........the kids have had a go too ........the OH has been on it for 3hrs and he is fluent in my opinion (not his though)It would make an ideal present for a child who is moving over to France, as the game side of it is fun though educational!Good luckJ
Mme poivre
Hi AllThe DS is not just for the kids, I have both the French and English Coach for my DS as well as the brain training games, it is as you say very good for developing an understanding of how french words are spelt, and what they mean, my OH and I are in competition to see who can learn the most [:)]J XX
babcock
I thought that this sounded good but the reviews on Amazon were not so hot. Apparently there are no genders with the words and no pronunciation. The DS is perfectly capable of sound so I suprised that those capabilities have not been used. A few years ago I knew someone with a PC based French course that not only had pronunciation but insisted that it could not understand you until your pronunciation was correct! Has anyone heard of this? My vocabulary is fair but my pronunciation !
