I used to live just down the hill from good old CP.  "Anti noise" lot killed another great circuit.  As if London wasn't loud enough.  But, there you go.

Absolutely. CP held some great races in the sixties - did anyone else see Graham Hill lose a wheel on a F2 Lotus and steer through the bridge abutments? He then walked over to the crowd (no question of stopping the race) and started signing autographs. Or Jochen Rindt in a Winkelmann Lotus? Early outings by James Hunt?  Seeing Ford Falcons chasing Ford Anglias? Great days.

At least the 'residents' didn't manage to get Brands closed.

That was a great piece of film, Coops - many thanks.  I couldn't have the sound on as Jude's watching telly.  Was the great Sir Stirling among the competitors?  I have a vague inkling that he raced at the Palace around that time.

Dick, to answer your question, a few memories.  I first saw Jackie Stewart racing a mini at Rufforth!  I saw Brian Redman total a Galaxy at Old Hall.  I have a picture of David Piper at Oulton Park sitting on the bonnet of what was then a brand new 250 LM.  Yes, I watched Mr Hunt in the early days - somewhere I have a Hesketh Superbear Racing T-shirt!  Many, many times watched J Clark, Graham Hill, John Surtees et al.  Bonkers about motor racing since the age of 5 when my Dad first took me.  He used to co-drive at local rallies and marshal during the RAC (in the days when it was a proper rally.)  I'll never forget the first time he drove me down the Mulsanne straight in a Ford Anglia with my mother and sister in the back seat wondering what all the fuss was about.  1962.

Cassis, as you no doubt gathered that was the greatest driver of them all  -JC- with the back end of his Lotus Cortina hanging out all over the place.  My, could he play tunes on that car.  No mention of Stirling (my father's middle name by the way!) Moss on the sound track.

Well I'm glad it has something to do with France, isn't that the Eiffel Tower in the background ?

Sorry, I missed a page, I was referring to the last picture on the previous page.  I think I'd better go to bed ! [:$]

Edit: Now I'm on the right page, loved your film Cooperlola, brought back some memories.

It's okay, CA - that picture shows the tower in the daylight. [;-)]
