Bubbles, I agree about the improvement in hair loss.  Now not having to dig out so many hairs from the shower exit hole.

Use gel for styling as before and just wash out the next day with water as usual.  Great for when you are in a hurry and can just dunk your head in some warm water, dry hair and off you go......

I LOVE YOU MR JONZJOB

I was going to send this as a private message but I think others should know really, so to hell with my privacy.

It is now almost two months since I have used shampoo on my hair - apart from the shampoo which came with the no ammonia hair colour which I still use once a month.

Have you ever sat behind little old ladies on a bus and seen how sparce their hair is? Either they have worked very hard at a combover and lacquered it to death, or else they have just left it and there is a distinct bald area.

Well, I saw sure I was heading that way.

In fact I had even started sitting in the back seat of the bus so that nobody could look!

Five years ago I noticed hair falling out more than usual.

I put it down to change of shampoo, wrote Pantene a nasty letter, received a £5 voucher and denial of any wrongdoing.

Tried all sorts of shampoo after that but the hair kept on coming out.

Now I have always had really thick, dark, curly hair and it still looked thick but I knew what was happening and it was scary.

I started taking Oenibiol anti-chute tablets and this seemed to help. Scared to stop, I have been taking them ever since (great expense - 16 euros a month).

I still seemed to be leaving hair everywhere I went so I visited my doctor in France. She prescribed Vitamin H tablets - two different types - 6 month course - 50 euros.

Took them and things seemed a bit better.

This didn't last and in September I saw a specialist in France. He insisted I had good hair. gave me a further prescription for Vit H which he said is a good idea every 6 months. He also prescribed some spray stuff - night and day hair restorer which cost another 50 euros.

Then I saw your comment about shampoo!!!!!

I am practically certain that shampoo has been the problem all along.

I have now stopped taking the oenibiol capsules and, even so, I am not moulting nearly as much as previously.

You are a miracle man!!

Other side effects? Yes, I think so.

Unfortunately, hair seems to be growing faster on other parts of my body so, the money I am saving on hair restorers is in part being spent on more frequent waxing

treatments! (think Denis Healey for a start)

I went through an allergy test last year since I often woke up with puffy eyelids and my face often took on what my husband termed a "drawn" look (even though I had had plenty of sleep). The allergy tests showed nothing. Could it have been the shampoo that my body was allergic to?

I did read somewhere that hair colourants show up in the urine 20 minutes after being used! Now that is scary - it goes through your whole body.

Am rambling a bit, but I am sooooo grateful to you.

That is why JONZJOB I LOVE YOU

ps - next step is to try rinsing my hair with rosemary "tea" (instead of colouring it) - apparently this can return your hair to its pre-grey colour. Too much to hope for?

Yes, probably.

Wow, Bubbles, what a story!

I told mine a while back, not so dramatic as yours.  Even so, I lose fewer hairs now; used to find them all over my pillows and in the shower!  You should see me on hands and knees removing my hairs when I have stayed at a hotel or B & B!  Just cause I was so embarrassed to be messing up other people's bedrooms and bathrooms!

Now, my hair feels lovely and manageable, never feels greasy (my main problem) and I can always do something quick with some Aloe Vera gel and a quick go with the hair dryer to produce a nice, well-groomed look.

The saving in buying shampoo, as I always bought the best because I thought I had problem hair!

Try chemists.direct.co.uk They supply most things cheaply and with minimum postage.  I looked at lipsticks in our local Intermarche the other day and they wanted 12 euros for bog standard lipstick.  I have bought Max Factor from chemists direct for just under £6 each.  We get all sorts from them and they are very reliable.  I buy conditioner from Intermarche it is next to the shampoos and is labelled apres shampoo.

I buy conditioner in any supermarket, and I always find good ones.

Make up, I stock from eaxh visit to the UK, because I can find lots of lovely lipsticks and eye shadows etc, at really cheap prices compared to France.
