Wood burning cooker / cuisiniere

[:D]Has anyone bought a wood burner that does more than heating, and has an oven and hotplates,
not something huge like an aga but say like the Wander Domino (see
http://www.wanders.ch/cuisiniere/cuisiniere-fourneau-31-2.html) or the Nectre Bakers Oven?

I'd love something like this for our place in France but they don't appear to be offered by the woodburning stockists in the UK or France, has anybody got one or have any recommendations?

Get plenty of calcium.
Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.

I was told when I asked at the local aga place earlier this year (in London not France) that aga don't do woodburners with cooking facilities, but that Rayburn (part of the same group) do, and they gave me a leafet about them too.  The web site itself is not all that helpful, but a local stockist might just be.

That said, we have decided that if we do go down that option we will be buying in France and not the

UK, we just wanted to get the info in English first.

I have a Godin wood burning stove.  It isn't a cooker but the stove has a flat top and I place a cast iron casserole on it to slow (sometimes not-so-slow) cook on it.  Rice is brilliant cooked this way.

Previously in our house, there was a German wood burning cooker in it but I had it removed because the oven was not big enough.

How are you getting on with your research???

You have the same idea as us!

I've found the perfect one in the UK, but it might prove difficult getting it over the channel. I'm also wary of having an English stove installed in France due to different  sizes of flues etc etc ( or is that going to be less of a problem than I imagine?)

http://www.esse.com/main.php?ePage=cookers&subsection=multifuel

It is multi fuel and can heat hot water ( and/or one radiator). Costs just under £3,000

What do you think???

ps....how do I make the www bit 'clickable' to go straight to the page????[Www]

I had a look at your Esse page and now realise / assume that you only need one radiator as advertised.

The Godin 'La Grande Chatelaine' Stove (cuisicentral) system is somewhat bigger and would provide central heating and hot water for up to 400 M2, a 50 Litre oven and a large hotplate with boiling area.

PS would cost a lot less than £3000 as well!!!

However it is guaranteed in France, can be serviced and repaired by your local chauffagist and the pipework comes from your local (France) DIY Shed

hi

we have two wood burning stoves, we nearly bought a woodburning cooker for the kitchen but the cost was much higher.  I liked the esse ironheart http://www.stovesonline.co.uk/wood_burning_stoves/Esse-ironheart-cooker-stove.html

we also considered the suprema http://www.broseleyfires.com/catalogue.php?Level=1&CatPage=11

you can obtain about 30% discount from casey associates, the suprema is made by la nordica

I really like the ironheart but would not pay the full price, I say one (a millenium special edition, that had never been used on ebay) just after we had bought our second stove.
