  1. Best wishes to the patient.
  2. Sorry that Geraghty is not in the starting line-up. Goode is a tought competitor but is not the future. In pre-history it was the full back who kicked the penalties and conversions now the fly-halves seem to have the monopoly - why?

  4. Dentist just phoned to cancel an appointment with my daughter tomorrow. No mention of paying her £20.
  5. Odile Please stay, I enjoy your posts.
  6. It amazes me that there are any second children. PS: Maybe willingly would have been a better word.
  7. Cathy (glad you are back) I am fortunate that I have not gone through childbirth or poverty, but I guess the difference between them is that those who have experienced poverty do not easily go back for more.
  8. I don't think that the Euro will survive in its present form till the autumn.
  9. The news footage about the UK automotive industry in a bad way always shows helicopter shots of masses of unsold cars. What do you do when you have lots of unsold stock and badly need money?
  10. The OP's post speaks well of the people who use Bergerac airport. My problem is that dogs in our car can tread on the window switches and open windows. Usually I hear this and rectify things in transit. However last week the pack and I came back to the car in the Wimbledon Common car park to find a rear window completely down. The alarm was on (activated when locking the car) but had not gone off as there was no wind.
  11. Lords Moonie, Truscott, Taylor and Snape, Lord Voldemort's henchmen?
  12. So who is first for my Japanese etchings?
  13. "Robin Hood has moved from Sherwood to Monoprix" So will the Sheriff of Nottinghan (a Norman, as I recall) join the board of Monoprix or even Sarko's cabinet?
  14. "Does that mean the Chinese are involved as well? " Just Widow Twankey.
  15. Why not take the £150 billion slush fund to the casino at Monte Carlo and put it on evens - double or quit.
  16. The only answer is two give him a couple of one hour long walks per day. A tired dog is a relaxed dog, an under-walked dog has the kind of energy that you describe. Apologies if you already walk him that much.
  17. We usually stay at Campanile hotels too, worth finding out if there is a decent place nearby for a walk too. B&B hotels (crazy name) also say they do at a 3 euro supplement.
  18. Cathy, I have been in your situation and I advise always parking at the top of a hill until you get it sorted out or bought a new battery. My first car was a morris minor and had a starting handle, I wish modern cars did too. Likewise why can't cars have real bumpers any more?
  19. Did you get the computer from your brother (who hasn't had any problems) too?
  20. I enjoyed my visit and am glad that the show was on.
  21. "In general, as long as you have a piece of official-looking documentation, that will normally satisfy the French," say Will. Arthur Ransome who was a war correspondent in Russia during the revolution, told the story that he was once in danger of a soviet firing squad. What saved him was a letter he produced with a flourish from his wallet. It was from the British Library demanding the return of a book. The quality of the paper and splendour of the die-stamped crest with the calligraphy of the signature so impressed his illiterate captors, that he was sent on his way.
  22. He has held senior offices in government for over ten years - can anybody remember what he has ever achieved? I agree that the glasses make him less Goebals (sp?) looking. Thing is he is useless and always has been. Blunket when he took over as home secretary said that he couldn't work out what his pre-decesser had ever done - and that is Blunket speaking. I can remember back to the late 60 when students were rioting in Paris and art students at places like Hornsey were being mildly stroppy and J.S. as president of the Students Union was rushing round trying to make sure students did not embarass Harold Wilson. Rebel in his day? He was a rimmer even then. (Sorry spell check not working)
