  1. Oh come on Lori, I can't believe you're suggesting there is a Chinese variant, I thought all the varients came from Brazil, Africa or Britain. ???
  2. Gardian, as others are saying don't let them get away with anything at all, I'm sure you would do well to contact your insurance company for their input. People who burgle other peoples houses are scum bags of the highest order and should get as much aggravation as possible.
  3. Porridge is my breakfast of choice.
  4. I spent a lot of my working life travelling and working in other countries. I had to have vaccinations or no work, mainly the insistence was the insurance companies covering crew insurance, sometimes it was the countries themselves that wanted us to have the jabs. Whatever, the choice was ours, having said that, I wouldn't have wanted to visit some places without vaccination. People have short memories, as children, we were given smallpox vaccinations, then polio and TB jabs, due to my job I always made sure that my tetanus was up to date, why wouldn't you?
  5. That would be something special. ???
  6. Aren't your comments on the wrong forum, shouldn't they be on the Scottish Mafia-run anti-English one? ??
  7. Very sad to hear the news, my condolences to the Queen and the family. During my lifetime, a man who has always been there, someone whose humour and comments the mob who can't wait to get up in the morning to be offended will not be sorry to see go. All I can say is most of us will miss him, for the effort and work he did to support the Queen, including my son who along with thousands of youngsters benefitted from the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. RIP Phillip.
  8. "The UK has been less than honest about the AstraZeneca vaccine." . Really? My good lady who is a retired Nurse went today for her Vaccination in France, during the discussion with the doctor pre jab, the doctor was telling her about the possible side effect of Phizer. During this discussion, the doctor offered the information that so far in Europe there have been 89 instances of bad side effects. Funny that Euro news and France 24 don't tell us this. When my wife asked why this was not publicised, the Doctor said it's down to money, Phizer is expensive so they want to keep any side effects quiet. So Sid carry on your propaganda with your eyes and ears shut..
  9. Looks like they have invested government money in printing papers and ink. ??
  10. "Onboard diagnostic indicates an anomaly in the anti-pollution device without any major malfunction". Sounds to me like a minor fault. Although of course, it can only get worse so investigation would be advisable.
  11. My good lady got an appointment today via Doctolib for the 8th of April.in Vendome. Phoned up and all good, it's the first time she has tried this site.
  12. Also, it's interesting in the constant mention of the "UK" variety, but I don't hear anybody on France 24 talking about the "Chinese" version.
  13. Before the EU I often travelled between Europe and the UK plus other countries, no customs officer ever asked the value of personal clothes or items, OK if you had a very expensive Camera it was wise to carry a receipt to show that it was bought in your country of origin. There is a lot of nonsense advice on some forums and social media sites. Mainly they are looking for goods that you might sell on or certain food items. Just use common sense.
  14. Idun wrote: If we had been made to have kids when old, we would be able to have kids naturally when old. The wonderful thing about being Grandparents is that after a couple of weeks you hand the rugrats back. Our daughter is convinced that I spend all my time with her children teaching them the things that she wasn't allowed to do when she was young. Although to be fair I have noticed that the older I get the more my thought processes match those of the little ones and that makes for fun times. Maybe because the littlies and me have nobody to tell us off when we are alone.??
  15. I can't wait for them to introduce the Co-vid pass, unfortunately, with the idiots in charge we will all be dead before they get it sorted out. I watched the announcement of the pass and it seems that everybody will get it if you've had a vaccination or not, another bullet in the foot moment for the EU commission.
  16. Had our UK cards refused by LeroyMerlin and IKEA for online purchases, went into both stores paid at the tills with UK cards no problem. It seems that some European online services don't accept Non-French cards.
  17. The head of Italy’s medicine regulator AIFA, admitted today that politicians had come under pressure to suspend AstraZeneca vaccines after Germany and France made similar moves. ‘We got to the point of a suspension because several European countries, including Germany and France, preferred to interrupt vaccinations. The choice is a political one’, Magrini said in an interview with La Repubblica.
  18. The World Health Organisation (WHO), the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) have all made it clear there is no link between the vaccine and blood clotting, and there is no credible reason to withhold the jab. In fact, the incidence rate for those vaccinated is actually lower than the general population…
  19. France has now suspended vaccinations with Astra Zenica, so my wife's RDV tomorrow won't happen. EU shooting itself in the foot due to politics it seems. What a bunch of disorganised idiots
  20. "Alexandre Guérini, 64, an entrepreneur specializing in waste management," A storey straight out of "The Sopranoes"
  21. Chessie, check with your local Doctor or Pharmacie about vaccines as they are now vaccinating with the Astra Zenica, and the age groups have dropped considerably. Stay strong it will soon be proper spring weather, a few days in the spring sunshine and things do or will start to look better, hopefully. ??
  22. The problem is now wooly that ANTS deals on line with licence exchanges and they have shut down as there is no agreement with the UK. Funny that the Uk has agreements with many other EU countries and indeed are exchanging EU licences in the UK.
  23. My good lady has managed to get an appointment for the vaccine, which we assume will be AstraZeneca for next week at the GPs in our local town. Fingers crossed.
  24. Chessie, I had my jab on Thursday and have a certificate, I only needed one dose as I tested positive last year. I had no symptoms but was advised to test as my wife who also tested positive had been in contact at her patchwork group with someone there who was positive. Who thought sewing was dangerous? As for a "passport" if the organisation for the vaccine is anything to go by I would think that I'll be long gone from this life before my passport appears.
