You are right. Message The device/Device/Harddisk0/D has a bad block. In Explorer I do not have an error checking button but , Hardware, device manager tell me the drive is working properly.  

Yes I do have a disk in. Runninh XP, found drop down box in search with"Advanced System Information" and that's the message. May be unrelated to problem.The CD is read only, doesn't burn or anything modern! Cat when you say Explorer what do you mean?   Thanks to you both

The CD reader on my desktop is not functioning. Under Advanced System Information I  have a message" The device/Device/Harddisk has a bad block.   Anyone able to transate for me. Am I right in assuming it either needs a replacement drive, or I seem to remember external drives. Any help would be appreciated.

How long will the oil price remain low? OPEC have just announced a cut in priduction  in order to obtain a higer price.I am about to order oil, see that Brent Crude is at a 4 year low, and yet 1000 litres will cost me approx €150 extra. Can't quite follow the logic.

I have just bought a new filter and pump. Never erected one before, there is a reel of thin white tape on a reel like a sellotape reel. Nowhere in the instructions does it mention the use of the tape. Any suggestions please?

To date I have only received my Avis d'impot and not the Avis d'imposition. Is it worth sending this or perhaps with a copy of the return I submitted?

Interesting in that the sheet headed Informations pratiques they ask for the usual ie passport EDF bill ans avis d'imposition. They ask for the "piéce justifiant(carte de sejour) "etc for non EU residents. After the signature they raise 5 issues. 1.loi no 99-641 juilllet 1999 sur la couverture maladie universelle. 2.article R 115-6 du code la sécritie sociale intrduit par le décret no 2007-354 du mars 2003.l'imprime de demande de la CMU de base est ERRONE SUR CE POINT 4.article L 161-1-4 du code de la sécritié sociale 5 article L 161-15-4 du code de la sécuritié sociale

Could someone help please. In a nutshell,bought house 2 years ago with above ground pool. First year whilst not using, kept the pool going, with pump twice a day during offpeak electricity. Last August, not using switched off. Yesterday, after seeing another thread decided to treat with chlorshoc and switched on pump. Woke this morning to find electric in the house off. Afer a while found the problem. Pump must have blown sometime after 5am. Pump and plinth in polypropelene totally burnt out I have a unit supplied by Albatica piscines. Would it be relatively easy to buy another pump and is there anything else I should be doing apart from switching it off. The unit is no more than 3 years old.The pump ref no. is I beleive 35 83 04910, but I do not know if this is correct as on the instruction sheet it says "kit fixation pompe sur socle. I have seen advertised Albatic Albaflow0.50 CV.

As the messages appear in a separate spam file I assume the ISP monitors them. Normally if there say 50 I can look through them(without opening them) to see if there may be any genuine messages, but with so many I could miss such messages.Slow morning so far only 192!

At the moment I am with Anglopack, mainly beacause they provide an English helpline, although I have not been too happy with their responses.If I understand the Alice package it includes Tv and also has the ebnfit of the system actually being installed by their own engineer. Does their TV service require a dish or arial- or do they use something a bit mor sophisticated. I have a sky dish and box, but no arial. I can only speak of the St Jean shop which sells items mainly from Tesco. The prices are exactly the same as in UK allowing for the rate of excahnge obviously. Don't quite know how they do it. I know that on 2 items, Colmans mustard( If I remember correctly a large jar for the price of a small one)  and Heinz baked beans- they are very much cheaper than the same items at the local Leclerc. His bacon and sausages from a butcher in devon are just like I remember as a boy.

There is also one opening on June 26th in St Jean D'Angely, an offshoot of the exisitng market stall.

As Cheryla says there are plenty of skyboxes on Ebay with people upgrading to HD. But if you do buy one, make sure it comes with a card.

Apparantly an accountant has ureged all E form holders to write on form 2047 that they hold a form, beacause it is usually missed by the authorities resukting in social charges etc being taken. Being a belt and braces man, I have written a statement to this effect at Section 8  and also enclosed a copy of the E form. prpbably pointless but I feel happier.
