1. I think that you would be able to convert one of the old style minis for €1000, but a modern car dashboard would probably be more than that. You would then have a steering rack, all cables and electrics etc. I could not see a conversion to any car built after 2000 costing any less than €2000 just for the parts. The labour to do it would probably be half as much again.
2. No you don't need them. Hi vis vests, warning triangles, spare tyres etc are only needed by cars and not bikes. You do need to ride with lights on all the time though.
3. If the TV is the KDL 37EX402 then it is selling on an internet site at €459.
4. The TV sounds ideal. The DLNA bit is the bit that i find the most interesting. There is obviously a system with that TV where you can connect with wireless, but I would use a network cable to the router myself, just a personal preference. For the Humax box, the advantages of the more expensive PVR version are that it has twin tuners so that you can record one channel while watching another - well worth £220 in my opinion.
5. SD, If I were buying now then I would opt for an LED one due to the power consumption. They seem to use about a third of what an LCD uses. I have a Humax PVR for HD satellite and consider it one of the best things that I have bought. With reference to watching stuff from the PC, look for DLNA (digital living network alliance), this is built into many modern TVs and means that there is a network plug on the TV. You can plug it into your internet router (livebox, neufbox, etc.) and can access video and photo from a PC onto the TV screen. I know that most of the LG TVs now have DLNA.
6. I take it you meant 2010. My wife had hers, €11.72 into her French account.
7.
For many of us, the length of time for which car insurance permits foreign travel is paramount. For many years we had one with the Caravan Club which allowed us to specify a period of time, and we paid extra for longer periods, which could be up to about 6 months as far as I remember. We now have Saga cover, which permits us to leave the car abroad for just short of a year - far more than we require, but which means we don't have to keep account of numbers of days. It was a lot cheaper than we had imagined, as it comes with our UK car insurance with them. For both of these you need to be UK resident.
But under French law a car that is left here for a year should be French registered.
8. Was not too many years ago when people used to tell me that they will never use email as they like to write letters. The same people would not use a digital camera as film was great. What future does the printed book have?
9. My fault Coops, I should have said that RGB is also called composite. Many DVD players have composite outputs as well as Scart sockets. You can but a scart plug which has the RGB sockets on the back of it (normally coloured red, yellow and white) for a couple of euros. The other option is a €29 DVD player with a HDMI output. The problem with a TV without scart will be how to connect a non HD sky or freeview receiver as most of these seem to use scart.
10. Does the TV also have RGB connectors? There look round with a hole in the middle and are different colours. Scart to RGB is very common and very cheap.
11. Don't understand what you are saying. You say you are with Admiral, but you also say you are a French resident. Admirals terms and conditions state that they only insure UK residents. Has your car been UK registered till now? A French resident is not allowed to drive a UK registered car according to French law.
12. Who are you insured with at the moment? They should supply your NCD to any other company.

15. I have been using them for 6 years now and never had a problem.
16. Here are a couple of other places to visit: St Loen sur Vezere And Domme
17.
Bob, I LOVE your machine.  Now forgive me if I'm saying the wrong thing but it's just like a motorbike with wings![:D] And Mrs Bob T is a truly talented photographer.  I'm not saying this to curry favour but I am uniquely inept when it comes to anything remotely electronic so I am dead impressed.
I suppose that it is a bike with wings. Thing is that is is so much safer than a bike so we sold the bikes this year! I have taken so many terrified locals flying and all of them have come back (alive) with a smile on their faces and want to do it again. If you are ever over this way sweet 17............ The wife only really got into photography this last couple of years and is learning more and more, but that is what retirement is all about.
18. Here you are coops, a picture of the machine. I am sure that many will notice that there are no registration letters on the wing in this picture, the wing was new and the letters were stuck on after that test flight!
19. You might like this one too:
20. Picture was taken by my wife from the back of our microlight. Quite an old picture and not very clear. She now has a new camera and takes air photos of all the villages and towns around here, the latest pictures are miles better. Anyone in this area might go to the Bar in Plazac (24580) this month and see an exhibition of her air photos there till 23rd of this month. The pictures have been printed out at 35 by 40 cms, but are for enjoyment and are not for sale.
21. Picture for Rose
22.
Coops I suspect my suggestions is too far off your track but if you wander into 24 from the Gironde, one of my most favourite places is Beynac... I love sitting beside the River (Dordogne), I love the view from the top of Beynac and I love wandering around the Chateau.  You can park at the bottom and you can also drive up and park at the top... and you can eat or get coffee at either place... you can even get a boat for a little mini cruise - it's just a lovely place to visit.  [:$]
Have to agree with that! I have some great aerial photos of Beynac too.
23.
Lousie and Gary wrote: PS - yesterday I renewed my TOM TOM SatNav speed camera site subscription for £15. Money well spent as it knows where every fixed site is located & perfectly legal.   Or a waste of money - if you obey the law then you are not going to get done for speeding - or are you one of these that speeds between cameras and when getting near one stands on your brakes
Even a waste of money when you consider that the speed camera database is available as a POI file for free off the web.
24. I am surprised that people still use voip. Many people now have Orange/SFR internet providers who give free calls all over the world.

Did you try Google? I did just to find out what it is, and there seem to be loads of places selling it in the UK.
