1. The details are emerging on the official site! Up to and including stage 15 available now. http://www.letour.fr/2007/TDF/presentation/fr/horaires_1500.html  (for stage 15) I'm still waiting for Angouleme but the next update is scheduled for 14 May. Sid
2. But in answer to the OP's question... Yes, you need a filter for every piece of telephone equipment, so 1 filter in each occupied phone socket. You only get the filters if you take the Livebox. Sid
3. I'm sorry if you already know it, but it is news to me. Sid
4. He is a prat. I can't condone release of photos as in this case. However, his obsession is control of speeding. If you don't speed you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Sid
5. A coroner has branded the Honda Pan as inherently dangerous! I find this quite shocking, considering the number that are in use. I can only assume that the additional equipment weight has contributed to the instability. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/merseyside/6600897.stm Sid
6. Even Domestos says on the container "sans danger pour fosse septiques". Sid
7. I'd go for a left-hand drive if you can! [:D] Sid
8.
Does anybody actually still use Internet Explorer? OK it's true that IE7 has been styled on Firefox but it can't beat the original in my opinion :D
The original browser was....?? I'm currently using both in an extended trial after a discussion/recommendation by Clair. So far I've found no distinct advantages with either product. I don't believe that home users, as opposed to businesses, will find much benefit from changing (either way). If you want to read about the tussle you can Google "IE7 versus Firefox" and get loads of information.   Sid [geek]
9. Hi Patf I think it's a portable radar device. See this page http://www.radars-auto.com/types-radars-routiers-doppler.php I've had a look at the map of fixed radars and can't find 1517, therefore I assume it's a mobile one.  http://www.radarsfixes.com/ The point is that it could be portable or fixed; the same radar device is used in both. If it's fixed, the number would be shown on the map (link above); it's not there so it must be portable. Sid
10. Hi Guys Yes, I'm a time trial fan too. Never managed anything spectacular in UK, and I'm slowing down now, but that's the beauty of time trialling, you can just race against yourself! I'll be setting the video to record the TV coverage, but sampling the atmosphere out on the road somewhere (not yet decided where). [8-|] Sid
11.
But you can find out the details of your local route if you really want to make the effort.
Treizevents It'll be in my local paper IF I live on or near the route! Yes, it's a matter of how much effort were prepared to make now, knowing that the full details WILL be available on the official web site in good time. It certainly doesn't matter to me if the race enters Angouleme at 16:00 or 15:45 or whatever, I've got 3 months to get ready so I'm not worrying now. I do understand that the route is already known, it's just not common knowledge, otherwise we wouldn't have to make a great effort! [;-)] I'll be in Cognac and Angouleme together with my visiting cycling enthusiast friends. I much prefer watching on the climbs though but there aren't many of those around here. [:)] Sid
12. Mike We had a guy from Chef-Boutonne. Marc Legrand (sarl MLTP, Fontenille near Chef-Boutonne). Very pleased with the job AND the clearing up afterwards! Sid
13. Moonraker The Wikipedia site doesn't give any more information than the official Tour de France site. We already know the route overall (stage start-finish). At some point, yet to be discovered, they publish the detailed route with timings for the race to reach each crossroads, town centre, mountain top etc etc. It really is a logistical nightmare for someone! I can't remember when the details appear. As other posters have already stated, the details will be known by those who 'need to know'. I can only suggest that we keep looking at the official site. www.letour.fr The timetables are  under PARCOURS and then LES ITINERAIRE HORAIRES So far only the first 8 stages are available in detail. Sid
14.
I refused to move over or slow down, if they had got in my path, then tough, they would have been eating dirt.
Perhaps you were hoping that we'd all be sympathetic? There are idiots out there, but you don't need to become one yourself. I suggest a less aggressive attitude, the roads here are wonderful, let's enjoy them. Sid
15. Good luck Ron! I watched Foyle's War too. I like the gentle pace of it. A resignation in the first programme of a new series is sure to have repercussions ... we hope! I'm on a Firefox trial now, and so far it's looking good. Sid
16. Dave They were OE on my VFR but I couldn't find any last time I replaced my tyres, and instead I was recommended to use BT020. Nev
17. Dotty As a motorcyclist I always feel obliged to spring to the defence of other motorcyclists, but I'm a cyclist and motorist too, so this puts me in an awkward position this time. In trying to take a neutral view, for I only have your version of events, were they perhaps just waving, and you interpreted it as hostile? Were they warning you of something further up the road, like a speed trap for example? Were they just being obnoxious, because unfortunately there are some of those too, just as there are aggressive car drivers (although I haven't met very many since leaving UK)? We'll never know now. I have to assume that your question is rhetorical because plainly there is no way that any of us can answer it! I would ask that you don't drive at other road users; you should drive defensively, and try and avoid confrontation for your own safety. Happy motoring Sid
18. I'll follow you're advice and do some research. It occurs to me that in loading FF it imported my IE7 settings so that possibly explains why it appears to act and look so very similar to IE7. Yes, where is our OP? [8-)]
19. Hi Clair I don't have any problem with huge fonts, it all looks quite normal to me. I've checked my own websites and these look exactly how I created them. I accept that you say you can control ads, although I'll have to get to know it better before I start twiddling. Maybe you haven't tried to stop them with IE7? The jury is still out on which is best and it probably comes down to whether you dislike Microsoft in general. In 35 years in IT I've never had any need for open source; what's the benefit? I don't always like Mr Gate's products, particularly because of the huge amounts of resource required due to lots of redundant code being left in from earlier versions, but the support is there if you need it, and memory is cheap now. I'm going to give Firefox a fair crack over the next few weeks and see how I like it. I'll be back [:)] Sid
20. Well I couldn't stand the suspense; I've loaded Firefox, it works fine, imported all my favorites etc, but I must say that the site looks exactly the same to me! It may be my imagination but FF seems a little quicker? I didn't have to log-in either, so I'm fairly sure that the answer to Ron's query is all about Cookies. Sid
21.
I really don't like the site through IE7! back to FF for me!)
Now I'm wondering what the site looks like with Firefox! I'm just going to have to try it! But maybe not tonight! Sid
22. Isn't this a Cookies problem? A cookie should be stored on your machine so that your pc 'knows' you've visited previously. If you've cleared out all of your cookies that would explain why you had to log in next time, but not why you have to log in every time. Have you got your browser set to accept cookies? Internet Options/Privacy tab ... you may need to tweak the settings to accept cookies. Sid   Forgot to say; I use IE7 and I don't have to log in every time.
23. Dave, I thought BT56s were no longer manufactured? Nev
24. I've used the Europcar depot in Ruffec (it's actually the Ford garage on the old N10 leading out of Ruffec) and they did a great deal when I contacted them direct. A Merc Vito to travel back to UK to collect a full load. There are depots all over the area. Try here ... http://www.rent-a-car-in-france.com/UK/default.asp Sid
