1.
I don't think you can GET a TV with inbuilt Freesat (yet!). If you've got the Sky box you may as well stick with that for the moment (assuming we can get it working properly!) as the launch of Freesat doesn't ultimately make any difference to the way a Sky box already functions.
Panasonic have announced the launch of their new TV's with the Freesat HD and Freeview Incorporated from June. Great news, less boxes to clutter up stands. I suspect other manufacturers will flood the UK market in the next few months. http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/729692/index.html#anker_729692 http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/711712/index.html#anker_711715 Baz

Sat Nav

Like  Chezstevens I bought a Garmin Nuvi 760 late last year and it is an superb Satnav with the very latest European mapping. Unlike the earlier models, you can put in up to 10 waypoints for each journey and the most important feature which is included with no ongoing charges in your chosen country is the integrated FM TMC traffic receiver. No Satnav should be without this, if you want to avoid traffic delays or accidents, it even tells you the estimated delay if you do not want to avoid the incident. There are so many excellent features some you may not need but with the price down to £215 in the UK it must be a best buy. Baz
3. It may be useful to confirm your current Ph. Chlorine and Total Alkalinity water readings as this may be a clue. Baz
4. I have made further enquiries and can now confirm that Saga Visa has been discontinued and will cease at the expiration date of your existing. Sometime before that date Saga will contact you and invite you to join Saga Platinum which will give the same or better terms than the existing card.  Also included as before is no Commission transactions within Visa Europe region. Allied Irish Bank is running the new card on behalf of Saga and you will only be considered if you can answer yes to the following questions. Eligibility questions a) Do you have a permanent United Kingdom address and bank account?      (Including Channel Islands and Isle of Man) b) Are you 50 years of age or over? c) Do you have a good credit history? d) Do you have an income £12,000 or more per annum? 5. Frenchie, I am pleased it worked.  I  would advise that before making a final booking on the Ryanair site to firstly always remove all existing cookies. There is a very good reason  but it would not be appropiate to discuss here. Baz
6. Ryanair site is very Cookie sensitive, I suggest it may be worth your while deleting all the Ryanair cookies in your computor and then try, it may well cure your problem. Baz
7. I have had no problems for months. This is suggestion that worked for me a couple of years ago on this site and cured the then similar problem. If you enter this site via your Favourites, firstly delete the favourite and then enter the site manually and sign in, finally re enter into your favourites as: http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/ I hope this may help. 8. Rather strange that Saga have said that they have pulled out of the Credit Card market as they appear to have introduced a new Saga Platinum credit card and you can even apply online. However regarding eligibility the one question that may be the reason they are now reviewing their car holders is  "Do you have a permanent United Kingdom address and bank account?" I think you will find that due probably to increased fraud and certain additional protection benefits that many other card companies will follow Saga and refuse to issue or renew cards to non UK addresses. 9.
I agree.. so explain why my post listing several email addresses and non premium rate numbers to customer services in ryanair have immeadiately been removed by moderators.  The BBC has published these also ... So you think your members should not have contact details to ryanair? What is going on here?
I noticed your posting and before I could note  the details it was removed. As this information has been posted on the BBC making it public knowledge,  I cannot understand the action of the moderators. Hopefully, the moderator who removed this extremely useful information could explain the reason for this action. In the meantime perhaps you could post these details on the other site (TF). Baz
10. The police state that he was not speeding so why was the speed camera triggered to photograph???????????????????? Baz
11. Ken didn't stand a chance with it being St Boris day in France yesterday. Baz
12. Cat, I too cannot get either that film to run or in fact any of the other listed films. Baz
13. Outrageous, but they being a low cost ferry may be trying to emulate the low cost airlines. Baz
14. ErnieY and Russethouse, thanks for the advice I will stop daily scans. In fact when I downloaded AGV 8.00 it was already programmed for daily scans. Baz
15.
Daily scans, however long they take, are completely ridiculous and unneccessary. If the AV programme is kept up to date and is doing it's job then after the initial complete scan it should pick up any nasties at the point of arrival and therefore it should never be neccessary to do a complete scan again !
Although, ErnieY I do understand your rationale and I am no computer expert but as the AVG is already programmed by the company to run both daily scans and updates, surely they feel it is needed. You can override the programme  and you have the option to decide what time the programme runs so I prefer to follow the manufacturers recommendation and be safe. Baz
16. I have been using AVG 8.00 for the past week and it is an improvement on the 7.5 version.  However, on my computer the recommended the daily auto scan takes about 2.5 hours as apposed to 45 minutes previously, but it carries out far more checks. The reason that they recommend auto scan rather than fast scan is that you can still use you computer without slowing down your usage and this is certainly a great  improvement on 7.5. Baz
17. Just a thought have you tried deleting your cookies for this site, it may just solve your problem. At times the wrong cookies can cause immense problems, I have all my cookies automatically deleted once a day except ones I ask not to be removed. CCleaner.com is an excellent programme for this as well a keeping your computer clear of nasties. Baz
18.
As you appear to be lucky to have an airport near you that has other airlines, although you don't even say if you live in France, when BA and Easy jet start flying to Tours, Rodez, Limoges, Poitiers, La Rochelle, Toulon and Beziers etc we will all be in the happy position of getting these really cheap fares from BA like you have been able to ........[Www]
I wonder just how long Ryanair can maintain their 23 destinations to France at the prices they charge. With Fuel at an all time high, the pound being at its lowest since the introduction of the Euro and  probably less passengers per plane especially from the UK, cuts in frequency and routes are becoming a real threat. We already know that Ryanair are grounding some of their fleet this winter as the cost will be less than maintaining some routes and I suspect France will suffer. It has often been said that people must not rely on the low cost airlines maintaining their routes and I hope that I am proved wrong as this would only make life more difficult for any businesses relying on the UK traffic. One further point, it could be the likes of BA and Air France that may save the day on some routes. Certainly BA can be cheaper than Ryanair if you search out the flights, although there is less choice of destinations. Baz
19.
Film 4 and the encrypted More 4 (I think) and a few others were already there on 10729 MHz,   the significance is that a (not as high quality as the main ones) version of C4 has been added as of yesterday in FTA. I must say that with this excellent trimming-diown-to-size of Sky even I might contemplate an HD screen and box,  although with the £ going ever downwards it'll be an investment in the UK not here.
I cannot see why one might comtemplate HD via Sky as there is currently a £10 per month charge for that very limited service. With the launch of Freesat in about 3 weeks HD will be available free with an anticipated one off charge for the HD box and dish of  £99 or with HD & PVR £149. For more details of the Freesat service look at: http://www.freesat.co.uk/home.php http://www.astra2d.com/freesat.htm Baz
20. This is why this site excels and you learn something new after so many years. Baz
21. I am mystified why there were no postings today between 00.18hrs and 12.26hrs. When I looked into the site earlier this morning around 09.00hrs all was working fine but no postings. Is everyone having a holiday? Baz
22.

Natwest have been using Card Reader Security for sometime, however, it is only for Internet Banking. Perhaps ErnieY could explain how NW Card Reader is used for Internet purchasing
Paste these details in your browser for the NW Card Reader info:  http://www.nationwide.co.uk/rca/Introduction/why.htm
Blossom, thanks for the reference but all it confirms as I suspected, is that the reader is just for Internet Banking the same as Natwest and not for Internet purchasing as was my question above. ErnieY, thanks for your response. Baz
23.
Having just bought an BMW X3 with xenon lights, contrary to what I was told, I find it nearly impossible to adjust the beam on the drivers side for driving in France. The other side is difficult but possible. Apparently it is not possible to use sticky bits on the headlight lenses with xenon lights. Keith
I have a Honda Accord with xenon lights, they simply solve the problem of diverting the beam by supplying headlamp protectors with marks to show where to place black sticky bits. This is a useful accessory as it can remain in place the whole time to protect headlamp against stone damage,  plus the stickers will not damage xenon lights unlike when they are used directly onto the lamp glass. 24. Natwest have been using Card Reader Security for sometime, however, it is only for Internet Banking. Perhaps ErnieY could explain how NW Card Reader is used for Internet purchasing. Baz
25. As he is trying in on regarding the pool sensors, I would ensure that you have in writing what pool equipment he is including in the sale.  Some of the equipment can be very expensive such as robot cleaners and you should be able to strike a deal on this equipment as it is often essential and costly to replace.
