  4. I was making an observation based on your recent posts on the BNP thread where you did not show any sense of humour at all. You have continued in the same vein on this thread, despite numerous people pointing out last night and today  the true facts about your ISP etc not being visible to others. A red mist seems to have decended over your eyes. Correct me if I am wrong, but were you not born and brought up in Switzerland  and only moved to the UK in your late teens.

  6. My experience of Estate agents. Some are professional, some are not. We asked two very well known Estate agents in our area in the UK to give us a valuation when selling our house. One gave us a figure approx 33% lower than the other. When we phoned that estate agent to say we would be using the other and gave the reason he said "" The best of luck but you will never get that"" We went with the estate agent who had given the higher valuation and we sold within a week for 15% more that the asking price. It gave me great pleasure to tell the other agent we had achieved our price.
  7. I agree with you that they should give up or take a chill pill but from comments made on this and other threads I suspect that the same comment could apply to many gite owners.
  8. I think that gite owners need to remember one simple fact. People are paying a lot of money to you hoping they are going to have an enjoyable holiday. Our French neighbours (gite owners) only seem to be interested in taking the money, not in providing an enjoyable experience. They shout at guests enjoying themselves around the pool at 10pm because they are trying to sleep . They do not provide any cleaning material but then complain if the gite is left unclean They complain if people spend all day at the pool. They cannot understand that people who pay 1000 euros want the swimming pool to themselves, and do not want all the French owners grandchildren in the pool at the same time as they are. I could go on and on but will stop at that.

If you can find a UK insurance Coy who will insure your Motorhome for 365 days a year outwith the UK ,ok maybe slightly less than that if you are bringing it back for an MOT , are willing to pay the ferry charge just to do that, pay road tax then the only rule you will be breaking is the 183 day rule.But noone pays attention to that anyway.

  13. Oh dear oh dear You are resident in France, you must declare ALL of your worldwide income in France. You will not have to pay tax in France on the forces pension due to a double tax agreement . You are now in a bit of a pickle. You should have made an income tax declaration in the May following your arrival in France. You would then have received an Avis d,imposition and a notional taxation amount This notional amount would have been used to determine how much you would have to pay to CMU to obtain health cover. When your E106 expired you should have applied to CPAM for CMU giving them a copy of your tax form so they could determine the amount payable by you. That would only cover you 70% and you would have needed a top up insurance to cover you for the rest But you have done none of these, you can only throw yourself on the mercy of the local impots and CPAM Best of luck
  14. I had Tryba windows installed between June 2008 and Jan 2009 (yes that is correct it took the installers 7 months to sort out the poor workmanship) The windows are of excellent quality but the franchisee in Dept 16 is another matter.

Stephen Tyrone Johns, a six-year veteran of the museum's security staff, later "died heroically in the line of duty," said Sara Bloomfield, museum director. Law enforcement sources identified the suspect as James W. von Brunn, an 88-year-old white supremacist from Maryland. He is a known Holocaust denier who created an anti-Semitic Web site called "The Holy Western Empire." He has repeatedly claimed "The Diary of Anne Frank," a widely read book about a teenage girl's experiences under Nazi rule, was a hoax. The museum shooting occurred on a day the museum was to stage a play based on Anne Frank and two days before what would have her 80th birthday. Investigators found a notebook in the suspect's car listing other locations in Washington, a federal official told CNN. It was unclear what purpose the list served. Von Brunn allegedly entered the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday and immediately shot Johns with a rifle, said Chief Cathy Lanier of the District of Columbia's Metropolitan Police Department. Two other security guards returned fire, according to Lanier and the museum statement. Both Johns and Von Brunn were taken to George Washington University Hospital, said D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty.   20. Ok Compromis signed at end of Sept 2008? Normally there is an approx 3 month delay between signing of compromis and final act de vente. In your case you agree to a signing on 28th Feb  about 5 months At some point before that date (approx one month) the purchaser intimates they no no longer wish to purchase. The notaire quite rightly states that they have until 28th Feb before you have suffered a loss. They do not sign on 28th Feb so are in alleged breach of contract. But the notaire has a duty to both parties to ensure that any deposit paid is handed over to the rightfull person The purchaser is entitled to take a court action out to reclaim his deposit if they feel that the contract has not been adhered to A common legal principal. I suspect that in the weeks between the 28th Feb and the middle of April (approx 6 weeks)  the notaire ,who has a duty to return the deposit to the rightfull owner) has been in close contact with the purchaser to establish if they were going to take the matter further. There may even be a set time limit for them(the purchasers)  to institute legal proceedings or to intimate that they will not take legal proceedings. There must be safegaurds in place to protect all parties. I know it is difficult but put yourself in the shoes of a purchaser. You hand over your 10% deposit but before the final signing you decide not to go ahead with the purchase for a reason that you believe is justifiable. . You tell the notaire that you are not going ahead with the purchase.You do not sign on the appointed day and the notaire hands over your deposit to the owners that day.You as the purchaser now have to take a court case out to get your money back.   I suspect in these circumstances you would be rather angry with the notaire

You started this post on 19th April the day after the purchasers were due to sign  and this is now 1st May. But I am correct that you wanted the 10% before the final acte date ? I have explained why at that point they were not in breach of contract. Seems pretty quick to me to get your compensation of 9% , in less than 2 weeks.

  23. You as the potential purchaser can ask for any clause you wish to be inserted, but the vendor must agree to this clause by signing the compromis.Whether the vendor would sign is a total guess unless you discuss that with them before the compromis is drawn up.
