  1. They sang it yesterday on BBC Breakfast TV - they're up in Edinburgh this week. That song's done the rounds with us lot using R***air! from Limoges
  2. Hi Coops, glad to see you'er getting back on form, all love from here wishing you well. xx
  3. I have books and Kindle too. For sitting in sun, relaxing and reading in bed at night or on holiday, Kindle. For time in winter when I want to curl up -book. I have all the books on the Kindle I have always said I'd read - A Christmas Carol, The Legends of King Arthur & The Sherlock Holmes novels. Plus of course my Terry Pratchetts (also in book form and some signed!) x
  4. Similarly(?)(spelling-sorry), it took us a while to be able to say 'what is the future'? The OH has worked all his life on the railway (well the working bit), he had a suicide as a driver and over a few years it took it's toll. My mother was diagnosed and died of cancer and the younger daughter was then diagnosed epileptic. When my health went a bit pear shaped and I lost the business I'd built up over 20 years - it was time to cut and run we felt for the sake our our sanity. So we are now here, living day to day, loving it, working hard with bees, gardens and renovations. Health improved, but not needing the luxuries we needed in UK - friends and family far more important! But - we have enough to live on! Small pension and small savings.

    Who are Urssaf?

I contacted Newcastle who said they would provide a letter, but not before the S1 is due to run out -4 weeks before maximum. So will have a waiting game now. Will also (after their summer holidays) contact CPAM perhaps to see what happens.

    Who are Urssaf?

Hi, as to the re-written regs being no help - our S1 runs out Dec 31st, as I have mentioned before. We are happy to pay our way, but need to know how this will be happening. We have a copy and translation of the re-wrtten regs but it appears the CPAM/CMU argument will go on for a long time - and we only have until December to figure something out. Thanks for that about Urssaf, they are mentioned in another article. Couldn't figure out how they were linked.

    Who are Urssaf?

So, according to Co**nxion newspaper, the French Health Care U-turn is not worth anything to us wanting to sort out our health care here. Who therefore are Urssaf? What is their relationship to CPAM and the CMU? We understand it's all in relation to health care but what other lines can we go down - apart from becoming Auto-entrepreneurs? I know this will have been asked before but am now trying to link the 3 units together to see where we go from here.
  10. Savings are those things you had once the kids left home, before you decided to move to France!
  11. Many thanks - we have to get some forms sent of and they keep asking for the 'Justificatif d'Imposition' - basically proof we're paying tax/living here full time.
  12. Many thanks - we have to get some forms sent of and they keep asking for the 'Justificatif d'Imposition' - basically proof we're paying tax/living here full time.
  13. Thanks for the warning NormanH - mind you, glad to see you're on the mend! x
  14. Thanks for that - how do I find my account - this is our first year - is there a number I can track down?
  15. Mac, have you completed this year's impots/tax forms? That will prove you are resident here, and that you 'intend' to pay taxes. This is our first year here as well and our S1/E106 runs out Dec.31st 2011! Fingers crossed we can keep in the system.
  16. Sorry to hear it's still on going, but glad 'all those bits' are not needed! Please send her my love andI know if you guys need anything, there are about 1000 people here willing to help!
  17. Having sent off our first set of tax forms, can anyone tell us when we can expect to receive the Justificatif receipt/form as we need the confirmation for some legal stuff. Ta
  18. Hi, Mr.Coops our best wishes to you both and here's hoping it's not too bad. Might just be stuff we don't need at our age!
  19. Similar to us - just retreived a nest as per your pic at someone's house. We had to cut down the honeycomb - there were five 'cells' and put it into the frames, now in our hive a few miles away from original site. These bees are weird though, we have given them a nice new hive and they still are trying to build their frames on the side of the hive, so we have to keep turning up and move the new cells back into an empty frame. They are nice bees though - we can stand beside the hive with them coming & going without our bee gear on!
  20. The larger holes are either toads, voles or campanoles a sort of country mouse. The smaller are mole crickets - they chew the roots of plants and we have been chucking them off the land all year now - the toads and the lizards love them
  21. Peardrops are not the same - using chemical flavourings - same as rhubarb and custard and pineapple drops! Flying saucers on the other hand....(my throats already salivating thinking about them!)
  22. We used the mineral oil from I*ea (not sure if I can mention them),called Skydd (I kid you not), it's clear and in a bottle. Took 2 bottles for ur front bedroom but brought the chestnut planks up to a lovely dark colour, as they would have been.
  23. Sorry, Mr. Coops, just seen the messages - been offline for a few days - managing the bees. Please send Debs our best wishes for a speedy recovery. Keni & Chris
  24. Hi Norman, just saw you are on the mend (hopefully), keep up the good work! Coops - this looks interesting for me don't yer think? Will wait with baited breath - our E106/S1 runs out Dec.31st! xx
  25. Go for a cuppa - guaranteed to make things happen! - Where there is tea there is hope!
