CAF

A standard form arrived by post from CAF this morning dated early August. We need to complete it and get a stamp from Lycee (who are apparently open next week for this purpose)  So panic over nowt really .
3.

But I  am here...in France
God that phrase rings a bell or two. [;-)] Sounds like a tag line from the past of a certain long distance lorry driver we once knew.
Oy cheeky!  copyright laws![Www]

Thanks for the quick response. Very helpful , just wish I had the thought to go on there first[blink]

CAF

I have just looked at the CAF site to see what date the rentree allowance money will be in the bank( I have already spent it on the necessary materials for my girls) and realised that I am only getting one amount of rentree money. Uually I have had a figure twice the amount showing this time. Our eldest was 16 last week and is going to Lycee proffessionale in September, I went to the local office today but as it is August the service is not assured[Www] so I have been online to the CAF and cannot find any answers and have filled in a questionaire with the hope that someone will get back to me, Should I have applied again  for her as she is 16 or have I missed something, It does say on their website that all students under 20 receive allowance, but is a rentree allowance something different?
7. Excellent advice and knowledge as usual from SD. It is our daughters 16 th this weekend and we are struggling for a prezzie. Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much driving lessons cost ?  I did my lessons in 1978/79 and cost 7 pounds per hour[:$]
8. That is the make I buy at Auchan.
9. Auchan in dept 66 has the real mc coy cottage cheeses, its lovely but very expensive. have a look if you have n Auchan near you , they may stock it.
10. A brief update. We turned up at this office and were the only party there, i thought we were going to be sat round a table to bash out our differences. It turns out that our neighbour wrote the mediator a letter. What a pack of lies, the whole letter was a farce in not a joke. The poor mediator man looked worn out when we gave him our version.......of course you are only going to know our side! This neigbour has told the mediation that we sit on our garrage roof and look at their guests[:-))] ,  I think that in the 6 years we have lived here , mr O has been on there 6 times...to fit a satelite dish, to trim the Ivy and make sure it does not creep under the tiles and to clean said tiles of algi.moss. She said we are misserable[:-))]........she forgot to mention they were the cause of our missery, claims she is on anti depresants.....forgot to mention the spirits she downs them with[B] ooh the list goes on. I invited the bloke to come and live at our house for a couple of weeks to see  who was having who on. We are supposed to get a phone call from this guy when he has spoken to this family. we as yet have not heard anything. I have stressed to this Mediator that the only thing we are asking is that they comply with the arrett prefeture, in our village that is 06.30 - 22.00. Then I will be content.
11. Well I must admit to causing a lot of hastle for my neighbours and their invites only a couple of weeks ago. Why?    Becasue I am sick to the back teeth of them inviting all and sundry to our village , they arrive in cars with beeping horns, bring their bottles of wine, pastis and cannets of beer, start a BBQ at11 pm get louder drunker and let the kids make as much noise as they want ::::::::::then they drive off down my village where my daughter and mates could be walking:  I phoned the gendarmes; they came and told them that if they drove they would be stopped and brethelised: Result; noise till 2am and a neighbour and their mates who cannot believe what merde the English neighbours are:::::::::::am I bothered: not really , as no one was killed that night: Oh and i am not a goody 2 shoes; I do drink ; but only in the house and neither of us will drive after more than & glass of wine; we do not touch spirits especially if they are not from an optic: This has been copied from the thread about drink driving: tomorrow we have a rendez vous with the mediator; I cannot possibly see that it will do any good with these neighbours as we have sent them letters with extracts from the public service web site about the arrett prefecture for night-time tappage and noise:

13.
RIB = Relevé d'Identité Bancaire Found in your French cheque book or printed on request at your bank or from your online account. It shows your account details: account number, bank reference, IBAN, SWIFT... It is used to provide a utility company or insurance company (for instance) with your bank details for payments in or out of your account. Sample RIB:
I do hope that is a made up account.........or you could end up rich when we all print ot off and pay our dues
14. Well ................ yesterday Mr O took aphone call from the place in Montpellier that sorts out all the affairs. we have to send a RIB off and are getting roughly half our money back. We had long since written it off as a loss, though we had been talking this week about contacting them to see what had happened. nice suprise.
15. This physio does happen in the UK. After I had our youngest who was very poorly and put in special care unit . they had a special side ward there that mums were put into to be near baby......only if mum was not poorly too. This was usually for mums of multiple births. The Physio lady came round every day to see various mums and screened off the beds. I was talking to a young mum(she was only 15....) who was not very confident with her baby and she was the one who told me about the massage she had to have as her baby was over 10 lbs! By the way my midwife also explained in detail how to do pre-birth massage from about 6 months into the pregnancy, it helps the muscles prepare for birth.
16. It went to local resolution, the police in their report claimed they suspected him of car theft and arrested him, but there was no mention of this to him at the time. He was cautioned and arrested for invalid insurance and that was what was looked at in court. He was not happy with the local resolution. In the hands of the IPCC who have a two month backlog. As previously mentioned , all in good time.
17. Quite right!   When a woman is used to breastfeeding after a few weeks, no one would ever need to see a bit of breast. Give us a break , it is the most natural thing in the world. I wished one of the feeding musms in our village "bon apetit" when she was on the place with her baby and todler........her grin was a joy.
18.  You must be more dumb than I thought if you think that something as serious as this would be even near its conclussion after only a few months. I will post the eventual outcome, untill then keep your stupid comments to yourself.   I realise now why I do not bother to post  often on this forum.
19. Thanks for asking , though I do not think your question was one of serious concern so shall refrain from serious comment.   [:P]
20. We too had a letter from our insurers informing us that our contract for one car would not be renewed. Mr O went in to see them and the assistant said it was because they thought we did not live in France. They came up with this Gem even though we insure our principle residence with them 2 cars, a moped , health cover and another house in France. The assistant asked Mr O to sign a declaration that he did live in france, which he did. After doing that he felt a bit miffed and went over the road to AXA showed them the letter and asked for a price from them........result was a lot cheaper than normal and accepted their price and cancelled the other.   I have a feeling this came on the back of an incident in the UK earlier in the year when he was stopped by UK Traffic police who said he did not have Insurance to drive there(we did and still do) and I had to get an attestation from our insurers here to send to them
21.
This should do the job Coops,
Boy that is Ugly, is it a Hummer? If so , my boss has one, I would love to see her get around the little villages she has to in the course of her day .........and park it!
22. When we lived in Uk, just about 5 years ago, I had a 8 year old and a 4 year old to get to 2 different schools each morning. The youngest had to walk with me in one direction to take the eldest as the roads were so busy. Then we set off back past our house and walked a mile or so in the other direction........oh and we picked up 2 more 4 year olds and another mum en route, and did the reverse in the afternoon. OK we maybe only did that 3 days per week as on my day off from work one mum did the walk, and another mum did it one other day as our shift patterns dictated. I did have a car sometimes, when Outie was on nights away so I could get the groceries in, but to be frank it was easier to walk to school than fight with the traffic and search out a safe parking space. As to getting kids back in sport. Why doesn`t the UK take up the bourse system that the french CAF offer? each child over 11 receives a form that they take to their chosen activiy.....swimming , Tennis , basket etc. you then get a 50 euro reduction by the organiser of this sport if they are affiliated, if not it is stamped signed and sent off to CAF and the parent gets 50 euros in the same acc that their family allowance goes in. My eldest joined the keepfit/gym at the salles des fetes this year, I paid 72 euro, bought her weights etc at Decathalon for around 20 euros, got the form signed by the instructor and stamped at the Maires office......et voila, 50 euros back in my account. My daughter and her friends have a laugh every wed evening trying to do the moves and sweat buckets.and get fitter into the deal.
