  1. Sorry folks. The piece will not embed on this site. Nanoseconds allocated to allow editing. Press the 'Contact Us' button and a page opens with the following - 'Oops, this page has either been moved or doesn't exist'. HeyHo
  2. Here's one I played earlier. 🙂 <iframe width="100%" height="300" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" allow="autoplay" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/1314784384%3Fsecret_token%3Ds-aTzK9YBH3j2&color=%23ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true"></iframe><div style="font-size: 10px; color: #cccccc;line-break: anywhere;word-break: normal;overflow: hidden;white-space: nowrap;text-overflow: ellipsis; font-family: Interstate,Lucida Grande,Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Sans,Garuda,Verdana,Tahoma,sans-serif;font-weight: 100;"><a href="https://soundcloud.com/user-392517110" title="cajal" target="_blank" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;">cajal</a> · <a href="https://soundcloud.com/user-392517110/cajal1/s-aTzK9YBH3j2" title="cajal1" target="_blank" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;">cajal1</a></div>
  3. Would it be Obomov by Ivan Goncharov? HERE
  4. Hmm, for those of you who are unaware, this thread was created as a sideways swipe at myself by the op, regarding a reply I posted on a different thread. I questioned a reply by a particular politically driven member regarding his persistent references and comments to the political situation in the UK. The thread in question was concerning the French presidential election. To date this thread has attracted more than 2800 views and 94 replies. I'd say that would justify a popular category of post. As I said towards the beginning of this thread, people move to other countries, people die, people become bored and distracted by other events in their lives, people move to alternative social media and, added to that, since the software change and the inability of members to create new topics/posts, the forum's credibility has fallen off the edge of a cliff. Y'all have a nice day and go careful in that there sun. 😊
  5. With the images above, 1st two male and 3rd female. Address them as you choose to suit the circumstances in which you encounter them, just so long as it is not disrespectful. Presumably, expressions such as, “Bob's your uncle” will be deemed offensive as “Bob” could very well be your aunt?
  6. When fossil fuel use is finally outlawed, where do these zealots imagine the plastic required to produce the plugs and wiring for recharging their electric vehicles will be sourced from? 🤭
  7. Greta Thunberg could achieve that goal single-handedly. She is, as I type, preaching to the converted at Glastonbury. Both are made for each other. 🤮
  8. Fortunately one politician, Richard Bouigue who is deputy mayor of the 12th arrondissement in Paris, had the balls and rightly stepped up with an immediate apology. HERE
  9. Windows Feature Pack contains your issue. I imagine MS is looking to future-proof the os with a view to develop its capabilities to function over all its os platforms. By introducing a 'feature pack' the programs/apps, which historically have been wedded to the os, will become a separate entity with availability from their store. This would allow frequent updates to apps whilst the os continues with its bi-annual updates.
  10. Keep up at the back of the class! It seems Macron is now garnering 'urine extraction' at the hands of Russian state media. They have adopted a political expression 'чтобы сделать Макрона'. Roughly translated, 'to do a Macron,' where it is used to describe a situation where someone continually calls a person on the telephone for no particular reason. ?
  11. Receiving that particular windows update will be determined by which version and features, of W10, you have installed on your machine.
  12. Right-click in the Taskbar. Click 'Search' from dropdown menu. Un tick 'Show Search Highlights' from dropdown menu.
  13. Back in the day when we were touring, it was always, without fail, a blast when we hit the Antipodean leg of the tour. Great people and there was always a full house, be it a theatre, an arena, or a stadium. Top place in my book. ? It seems Macron is now garnering 'urine extraction' at the hands of Russian state media. They have adopted a political expression 'чтобы сделать Макрона'. 14. Eurovision Song Contest? Perhaps someone would be good enough to explain, preferably in words of one syllable, when did Australia become a European Country? It would also appear that Canada aims to field candidates for next year's event. Confused of Côte d'Azur. ? In case anyone missed the results, Germany propped up France at the bottom of the results table. Would this be a reflection of European's thoughts on the top two nations and the bottom two nations with regard to the response to the dilemma inflicted on the overall competition winner's country?
  15. Yes. It's geriatric, like the majority of us on here.?
  16. I agree totally with Judith. Had I not visited the ophthalmologist, I quite possibly would have been unaware that I suffered from glaucoma and that both my eyes were in the process of sprouting cataracts. This was a couple of years ago. He immediately prescribed daily drops for life, to counteract the glaucoma, which is now totally under control. Regarding the cataracts, he recommended waiting till they were both large enough for ease of removal. However, Covid delayed the removal procedure last year, but he has been able to remove the left this February, and he will be removing the right during the second week of June. It's always easy for others to tell someone with a particular dread of a medical procedure to overcome that dread, but think on, the effects of a few drops and a 'puff' into your eye usually only last seconds. Blindness lasts for life.
  17. Log In to your account. Select - the settings icon, situated next to the Log-Out button. Select - Data and Privacy. Scroll down the page and select - Manage Your Data. Select - Download Your Data. Select - All Categories. Submit request. When I followed this procedure several years ago, a part of the data they emailed, a couple of days later, contained the 19 digit account number.
  18. They do, and they are 19 digits long.
  19. As suspected, the video appears not to perform — sorry for that.
  20. Over the winter period, Mme asked if I could make her some bird nesting boxes. Always one to oblige, I said yes, but for starters it will just be the one. If my efforts result in tenants, then next winter I promised to make more. I did a search for size, dimensions and style and found plenty of information including plans. I have a quantity of 22 cm wide light oak parquet flooring which was ideal for the construction and when completed I stained and varnished the outside only. The hinge is a piece of sheet rubber attached to the roof and to the vertical back with screws., I fixed it about 4 mts up on a east facing wall, as recommended, and a week ago Mme managed to capture a short video, on her phone, of the parents busily feeding their young. Here is the uploaded snip(further down). I just hope this antiquated software can cope and show it. 20220429_202506.mp4
  21. So the post you reference that caused you to wonder would be this one, which was the only one posted 25 minutes earlier. If this is the case, thank you for reading one of my posts.
  22. Personally, I would say 'wonder' no more. The 'waning popularity' you refer to is certainly not a cause and effect of 'confrontational attitudes' of posters, as this thread has shown. No, the demise of posters on the forum must surely be attributed to the recent installation of the appalling software by Archant's misguided hierarchy. Just check the double posts this week alone due to the inordinate amount of time it takes to load a reply. The hassle and aggravation, so many experienced, attempting to sign-on following the installation of the 'updated' software. The lack of input from the technical dept. The spam. The list is endless. Check out the online users at any time of the day, and I guarantee you will find there are at least 4 or 5 times the number of Guests viewing the forum than there are Members viewing. Archant need to hurry up and sell it on, as we are informed, to an organisation or body of people who are in a position, should they so choose, to fix these issues or install fresh software. If that situation is achievable, then the forum just may survive. Failure to act, and it will be dead in the water.
  23. Quite possibly Galium which is not a weed.
  24. Well I rest my case, point proven, 40 replies in just two days with nearly 500 views. To survive, the forum obviously requires more contentious topics and posters. ? While we are on the topic of posters and their attitudes towards others, let's not forget the attitude of all the self servers who, at the first sign of a problem, descend here from their ivory towers to elicit help and assistance from the knowledgeable. Once they've extracted the help they require, it's an exit stage left without even a by your leave or kiss my a.ss until the next issue ensues, and then back they come. Yes, you all know who you are. Here, I must give a shoutout to people like Martin963, although having departed France, still follow and offer up knowledge and assistance just as they willingly did whilst resident in France.
