Here is a cut from a 2006 article.  ( http://www.moneyweek.com/investments/is-the-euro-set-to-collapse.aspx )

"So although the Germans had insisted on having 'black tie only' on the invitations, everyone who wanted to join was admitted. The Belgians came in their lounge suits. The Italians and Greeks didn’t even have a jacket or tie! The whole episode demonstrated the political nature of the euro project, rather than any long-run economic viability.

Believe it or not, more countries are lining up to join the euro today. Some are waiting outside the club dressed in jeans and trainers. Next New Year, Estonia, Lithuania and Slovenia hope to start using euro notes and coins."

I like the way the author uses how they are dressed to highlight which countries have been allowed to join .

From the beginnings it has always been the Germans who have kept an eye on the money side of things , and good on them .But when you are a member of a group it is not always easy to get things your way.

So what do you think will happen ?

Will a strong county like Germany leave or will a weak one like Greece or Spain leave.

Or .... ?
