Gendarmes on the beach

Not usual to see a pair of gendarmes walk onto the beach  from between the high dunes that longent the miles of beach; even stranger to see them stop and view out to sea with binoculars, then turn and view the dunes.

They then disappear from whence they came and reappear again a little later, this time walking slowly along the beach.

We spot people high on the top of the dunes which is unusual at this time of year.

Unusually too two gendarmes vehicles parked and empty in the car park on the front.

Hmmm, then, as we are driving away after a splendid walk we see a group of maybe a dozen young men of non-European origin emerge from a footpath slap in the middle of the built up area, following what was clearly the leader in single file and each carrying a plastic bag.

Research in the local papers reveals that the passeurs have been moving down the coast which at least doubles the sea crossing and danger.

And there has been skulduggery, of course; Le Touquet, very up itself, has been ferrying the refugees beyond its boundaries into the next communes.

Of course there have been centres d’acceuil established in the coastal communes but some of them have been shutting.

The sea is calm at the moment, very calm so they do stand a chance and seem to have been picked up by the patrolling British, five boatloads, crammed together, wearing lifejackets. But great Bobo, they must have been cold out there. Imagine crossing the Channel in an open boat at time of year.

Poor rastards, all that way, all that risk to maybe drown in the Channel or to live in poverty in Britain. Still, I suppose they are alive.

The French did manage to catch a small legally fishing British trawler in French waters to be fair.

The Gendarmes are not all that cr&p.

Kinda missed 20,000 migrants heading to Dover this year mindyou.

 

All the fuss now is the 4000 odd migrants stuck on the Polish border. The EU saying that Balarus are using them as political pawns and Lukashenko will let them free into the EU unless....we are nice.

Hang on minute, France set free 20,000 migrants to the UK. The EU does not seem to mention that with all their threats. 

 

Funny, I mean horrible world we live in.

Poverty?

You must be joking, old chum!

A majority are not "fleeing from war torn countries...sob, sob" but are in fact economic migrants.

They know full well that the idiotic British state will throw large bundles of benefits plus free healthcare at them.

Why do they not stay in France? Or Italy? Or Spain?
