Sometimes, when they have had it from childhood, they grow out of it.  If your son is physically small, then he has an even better chance of growing out of it.

My son had asthma as a child and the specialist said he needed to grow bigger and his lungs needed to mature.  Sure enough, the asthma improved quite a lot when he was about 14. 

There's always a chance that it will improve though it may not seem likely to you now.  He is a brave, good boy, going to school and behaving as normally as possible.  It's what you need to do when you have one of these possible live-long conditions.

When MY asthma gets bad, I think of Paula Ratcliff (who also is asthmatic) and I also think I can do a marathon (though not in the time that Paula does).

I read your post with attention.. My son is tall for his age... he 's 1 m73 !! ( he's thirteen )  SO maybe he won't grow out of it.. [:(]

Yesterday the doc said it is impossible to say.. when he was a baby they used to say " when he s a kid"  then " when he s a teenager"  then now " .. we can't say .. dunno..."

Yes, Guillaume is a conqueror   [:D] , brave little guy.. He thought he woudl have had too much to catch up if he had missed today s classes.. ( German, English, maths, geography, French, biology etc  )

I know he will eb worn out tonight...   We have a " peak flow" at home, we ll have to check if he s getting enough oxygen .. this morning he was at 300. the doc said if it gets below 250 I have to take him to the ER at the nearby hospital..  he added 2000 teenagers die from asthma attacks a year in France.

So yes, I am careful. He's my only child.
