Frenchie in my long hard serch to speak french are you saying peach or fishing (peche) and how do you tell the difference????   Every lesson just leaves me more confused[8-)]
It is pronounced the same way.. ( But it refers to the fruit.. dunno why..) The only difference comes from the context..

When you feel good, you can say in a familiar way " j ai la pêche " or " j ai la frite "    or " j ai la banane " .. [:D][:D][:D]

Ad my son just told me " and tell them English is not that easy to learn ..."    LOL

Helllllllo!

La ballade de Melody nelson    Serge Gainsbourg and his British wife  Jane Birkin

Here is the translation of the lyrics

This is the story
Of Melody Nelson
Who apart from myself no one
Ever took in their arms
That surprises you
But that's how it is

She had love
Poor Melody Nelson
Yeah, she had tons of it
But her days were numbered
Fourteen autumns
and fifteen summers

A little animal
That Melody Nelson
An adorable little girl
And such a delicious child
Who I only knew
For an instant

Oh! My Melody
My Melody Nelson
Lovable little idiot
You were the condition
Sine qua non
Of my reason
