Why no pm button on my posting?

Can someone please tell me why my posting has no pm button on for people to pm me? All other postings seem to appear with the button.

Why would you want to send a PM to yourself?  The purpose of the PM button is to send a PM to the author of the message.

Equally, why would you want to send yourself an e-mail and yet that button does show up.  A software quirk, I think.  Laurier, your pm button is visible to the rest of us.

I have used the email function to send myself some references I wanted to look into and knew I would forget. It's just there and it's quick!

Ah, understand it now! I couldn't work out how anyone would pm me if I had no button. I absolutely didn't know that it was visible to the rest of you - thanks so much for explaining that! Not quite at the stage where I send myself messages ...
