Mutts
We are trying to plan our trips to France (24) next year and would like to spend as much time there as work allows. It's a fairly long drive from either Caen (BF) or Boulogne (SF + dog & overnight stop) - so can anyone please tell me the dates the French take their holidays enmasse or any other dates best avoided? Also, does anyone know when the A28 will be opened? Many thanksLinda

Hereford
The Fench take their holidays in July and August. Definitely avoid the first week-end of July and the last week-end of August, but MOST importantly avoid like the plague the cross-over week-end from July to August when the "juillards" are travelling north and the "aoutistes" are travelling south!Hereford

Miki
Definitely avoid the first week-end of JulyHereford,Never known that weekend be too bad.Certainly the weekend immediately after le 14 juillet (16th & 17th 2005)) is the worst in July and the 21st & 22nd August (2005) and to a lesser extent, the following weekend as well.
