Bastille Day

Recommended Posts

For those who thought it was wrong that British people in France were wrong to celebrate the Jubilee, here are some photos of a Bastille Day celebration in Reading: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/p6bxvvf01l0ps07/F0OxVS9g3r?m organised by a group called The Three Frogs. Lots of the customers seemed to be French, and the Tartiflette was particularly popular

Though these photos only show the market there were other events due to go on to the early hours.......

It was a first time for this particular event and my feeling was they did very well, very enjoyable.

[quote user="NormanH"]The simple difference is that British people were  tactlessly celebrating the Monarchy in a country which has abolished it, and the French were celebrating the beginning of the revolution in a country which needs it [6]

Very droll Norman...

It was a nice happy event and no one cared about about the politics.  (and I doubt they would have at a Jubilee celebration either) [:)]
